So much like with their bigger brethren, the cosmetics stand the same, just a color change from the outside :)
Not complaining just saying :p

It is wild that the 400 is $99 and the 600 is supposed to be upwards of $400 - all in the exact same shell. That must be one hell of a different dynamic driver. I'm sure the cable will be upgraded and the included accessories will be superior (400 only now coming with pouch?)

I'm not sure if the RE-400 come with a pouch or not :p  I got a pre-release final version, but it did not come with a pouch (but did come with the rest of the accessories).

These are becoming what seems to be one of my favorite headphones ever.

Listening to them constantly for about a week now, and still no temptations to visit the EQ. I recently compared them to my quite lovely AD900X, and I was pretty surprised at what I was hearing. The AD900X sounded far too spaced out. It sounded diluted. It was now definitely a bit brighter than I remembered, and the bass wasn't nearly as prominent either... coming from the RE-400. This is one of the first times I can remember where I actual prefer an IEMs sound and presentation over a full sized, regardless of signature. I'm going to give the RE-400 another week or so, and then I'll start seeing how it goes up against my PX100-II. This could possibly be the end of the line, as I simply may just use an IEM for all my listening.

Thank you, HiFiMan.

It's understandable why they did it though.  Cut costs, the RE-400 are already dirt cheap for what they do.  OK, maybe dirt cheap is an overstatement :p

Somebody made mention a few days ago that "Fang" (I think) stated that a pouch was being included with the 400 from here on in... I could be mistaken.

If that's true, that's good to hear.

Right now, I wish the RE-600 would have a removable cable with it.  For an IEM in that price point, it's really a must have :p

Some feel they don't have enough bass, but I felt bass has a strong presence just like my HD 650s. The bass is very prominent too like a big set of headphones, it's well rounded and very high quality.  My friend thinks Re400 are dark and sweet sounding. Bass is realy there, mayeb fit is the problem. RE400 also love being amplified, they sound even better then.

Highs are not as good like on HD 650, or ER4S, but they are not far behind for sure.

What can i do for fit then? I wear them hanging down now and the seal seams ok, I think the only thing could be the depth, but if I push them deeper I lose the seal. What types of tips would you recommend? I think I don't like tips with a small hole as they somehow narrow down my soundstage, with a bigger hole everything seems bigger, does that make sense?

+1
And I usually do have a problem with the fit.
Hifiman is flawless in this regard - no fit problems with both the full-size and IEMs
