Noticed a small bug once: charged to 65%, then turn off. On next day turn in and see a 82% battery :D

Got a "-13 error”, checked files for deleting - debug_files show me that me need to delete all files :D

Would you complete this action, the error 13 would gone. I'm sure.
I mean that need to delete the ALL files on sd card like format SD hehe :D but okey, maybe sd card after android-DAPs cant work properly on Hiby.

I think that problem non in music files

the problem is not in the SD card but in the R1 software. I formatted different cards on Mac, Windows, etc. In my case, the system hung in a different place every time, the music tracks were there and once they were missing. I am eagerly waiting for the errors to be corrected otherwise even though I like the R1 very much and I liked it, it will be returned.

Strange things keep happening with the battery. Last night, I plugged the device into a 20W charger I had stored away, which I know works perfectly. The device was at 11% when I connected it. The red indicator light came on, showing that it was charging. In the morning, I woke up to find the red light still on, indicating it was charging, but it was still at 11%. Very strange. I unplugged it from that charger and connected it to another one, the one I use for my mobile phone, which is 65W. Then it started charging relatively quickly until it reached 98%. I honestly don’t understand what’s happening with the battery; it’s very strange.

About the same situation i told early :) really strange...

I guess it is just an incompatibility of charger and R1 controller. For this kind of "small" devices I use dedicated 5V 2A charger to avoid any problems.

You’re absolutely right about your recommendation to use a 5W and 2A charger for smaller devices like this. I actually follow that advice with other devices—for example, with my Miyoo Mini Plus handheld console, I use a charger with those specifications. However, in this case, it was the higher power charger that allowed the device to charge, which is strange.

Regardless of the charger, the behavior itself remains unusual and difficult to explain.

I connected a 20W charger to the device, and while the charging indicator and red LED showed it was charging, the battery stayed at 11% overnight. I then switched to a 65W charger, which charged the device, but suspiciously quickly. This makes me think the first charger may have actually charged the device, even though the software didn’t update the battery percentage.

Other users have reported similar issues with fluctuating battery percentages, with levels increasing after use or showing incorrect values. I’ve experienced this myself when the device showed 0% but jumped to 60% after a short charge.

It seems there’s either an issue with the battery or with the software reporting the battery level and charging status accurately.

PD charging is not rocket science, but is not a trivial protocol either. The power of a charger only means the maximum power the charger could deliver…contingent upon the charger and the device (the R1) to “agree” on some voltage/amp combination.
For example, it is possible that, besides the standard 5V/1A (5W), R1 charging circuit only accepts 5V/2A (10 W) and 9V/2A (18W). You could plug R1 to a 140W charger… it ain’t gonna charge any faster than 5, 10, or 18W !!!

It is possible that R1 and your 20W charger ended stuck in a perpetual PD negotiation, never agreeing on anything… and in the meantime, not charging the battery !!! Blame R1? The charger? Both?

Hello, after great enthusiasm connected with the purchase of the player and positive impressions connected with the sound quality, I like my Hiby R1 less and less, there are still problems with the song database, error 13, or the player hangs. The problem concerns various cards 32, 128, 256 and 512 GB. On my second Sony player there are no problems.
Agree, it's time to release the next firmware version - all outstanding bugs were reported.

(just to clarify - at my case no problems withh SD, but I never scan it)
The firmware update will be released before Chinese new year which is 29 Jan 2025.
See now I have not had any of those issues with my R1. And it is not fair to compare HiBy to Sony. Hiby is doing what they can but do not have the R&D or resources of a Sony.

This is something you could say about a young child unable (understandably) to keep up with the big boys, but not about a company. Hiby has decided to sell us DAPs (among other stuff) in return for our hard earned money. They have to deliver.
The thing about a Sony non-Android is that as far as I am aware you can only load music onto the player using their specific application. Which is much less flexible than what we allow (throw files on a card however you like and let the poor little CPU on the player not a big computer sort it out)
huge issue with connecting to airpods pro gen 1 , gen 2 and , anc 4th gen
connect - no sound , if there is sound is just one song , leave it to for the next song , no sound anymore , disconnect fiddle with the codecs you get again sound for 1 song , this really needs to be fixed , i'm considering returning this device altough i really like it
i did not have these issues with Airpods Pro Max , or SONY XM5 Or Bose QC35 , but airpods pro are most commonly used and most comfy , can this be fixed.
this same issues happens also on Shanling M1 Plus device.
Please fix this i want to KEEP MY DEVICE.
The firmware update will be released before Chinese new year which is 29 Jan 2025.
