Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)

Hello ladies and gents. Sorry but I haven't read through all 500+ pages of this, I've skimmed the first few, but I have a question and I think it would be well suited in this thread.

I currently have V-Moda LP2 over ear headphones. I like them because they have some decent bass. And they're pretty damn tough. They've lasted about 2.5 years of every day use, a few falls, etc.

Anyways, I'd like to get a pair of IEM so that I can use them under ear muffs. I work in a factory and it gets noisy sometimes. BUT one important feature to me is a 3 button mic.

I'll just break this down into a list of what I'd like.

$200ish
BASS!!!
3 button mic
Comfy
Tough

And if you can find them on amazon, thats a bonus.
I don't regularly use an amp, but I do have one.

Was thinking of getting Future sonice G10, but the 3 button mic really kills it for me.
If you can help me out I'd love you long time. Thanks

I whole heatedly recommend getting the ATH-IM70 and an aftermarket cable with Mic. At that price point, it would work out to 200 dollars including a nice OCC braided cable.

I thnk the IM series would not be so comfortable underneath earmuffs unless they are particularly capacious, though I've only had 02, maybe others are smaller & replacement cable less thick behind the ear.

Also, how would I go about getting a custom OCC cable for these? They do have a 3 button cable from AT which is always a nice thing. Is there a website for OCC that I'm not finding?

OCC is just a type of copper, wouldn't get too hung up on that, Think AT make an official replacement cable w/ mic. Otherwise Lunashops or some custom cable makers might have them.

Personally I think the smaller the better for under ear-muff, something like a single micro-driver iem (old eph100, Carbo Tenore, Rockets, jvc fxh30 maybe), though idk any of those that hit basshead territory, or that come with remote- I think some people here rated the Pump Audio iem which are fairly small, but think that is only one button. Fidue A31s kinda midbassy and tiny, but also only one button remote. Some of the RHA iems are considered bassy outside of this thread at least, and come with three button remotes I believe.

We offer two cables for ATH with one button in line mic within that budget - X and Exo.

How long to make a cable for the ex800 and ex1000? The support system for another cable maker has become a joke so it's a non option. Can you give me a time estimate and i will make an order

We've just added Sony to our list, so you can now order directly from our website.

Build time is currently at 8 weeks. We are very consistent with processing, but should you request a status update, we will always respond within a few hours (most of the time within minutes).

I looked on your whole page and didn't see a single Sony EX1000/7550 compatible cable.

Sony MDR-EX models has just been added to our list. Select 'Sony' under connector option.

The build time is only an estimate, so it is very possible that we could complete them a bit quicker, just not within a month. That said, we do offer rush if the order is urgent or like to have them much sooner. That will shorten build time significantly.
