I see people at the gym using beats over the ear all the time.  I couldn't do it.  I would worry about sweat getting in there and shorting something out.  I have think the Yurbuds are good and also the Sennheiser Adidas line mx680 is very good.  And it's waterproof.  Can rinse it out under running water.  I just received the new model...the mx685, but haven't done my review yet.  I ran with them last night.  Good sound on initial listen.  My review will probably get done this weekend.
