Grado RS1i Impressions thread

Was that included with the RS1i or is it only included with the GS and PS 1000 series?

Thanks for your sharing! My Rs1i only come with a short cable adaptor from 3.5mm to 1/4. I think 15'cable is only included with gs1000 and ps1000.

Th RS1i/GS1K/PS1K all came with both the 1/4">1/8" adapter and 15' extension cord.

The brand new RS1i that my dealer loaned me had both, the 15' extension cable, and the 1/4'' to 1/8'' adapter.

My new RS1i came with an adapter, but no 15' extension cord (and no empty compartment in the box for one). My PS1000s and my GS1000s had a 15' extension cord (and an adapter).

I guess it depends on they were made then, because I think its strange John's donsen't even have a slot for the extension cable? I purchased my RS1i around early 2013 I believe, and like I said they came with both.

RS1i is my first pair of Grado's. I tried a variety of other phones before that including HD650's, and the RS1i is just my happy "let's enjoy the music" headphone. A bit different from the monitors that I record and mix music on.

Excellent feedback Harry.
My rs1i had the extension cable and adapter in the cardboard box.
Each time I come back and listen to rs1i it's a special listening session with heightened sensitivity to the finer details heard in the recording.

A special set of cans that offer sound like you have not heard before. Plus, the longer the listening session the sweeter it gets.

Just out of curiousity, did your RS1i come with the 15' extension, and 1/4'' to 1/8'' adapter?

I hope that they're not fake, do they have a serial number?

I'm not sure about the first batch of e serie, but the newest ones all come with the matching 15' jumper cables. Having longer cables is a good thing, especially if your car is park facing down in a sloped driveway.

Its the long copper crystal lattice structure that lets you jump your car using your headphone amp. Just turn the amp up to 11 first and crank up Battery by Metallica.

Indeed they do have a serial number, and they were bought at an authorized Grado dealer, where I had a chance to listen to two and select the one I prederred.

I suspect that during the time that the RS1 was Grado's top headphone, they offered them with the 15 foot extension cable, but after the GS1000 and PS1000 came out, they reserved the cable for them.

When I bought my RS1i, new from dealer in March 2011, they came with the 15' extension and 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. The PS1000 and GS1000 were on the market at that time.

And you didn't choose the GS or PS1K's because?
