Oh, I will come back from time to time to see all my friends and relatives- not to mention the shopping. :)
Really don't understand why everything has to be twice as much in Europe.

Slight tangent but still on topic,

Take Violectric from Germany for example for the V200 - best US price on ebay?

$1270USD

I can get it new at full retail from a fully recognized concessionaire here in Melbourne
for $1000AUD or $1047USD as of today's exchange rate. Decent difference in price and
I'm all lost as to why this is the case.

Consumer price in Holland is EUR 769 = USD1050, which is almost the price of PS1000 in Russia, if this is not a joke

Ridiculous, as discussed at head-fi several times.

This is why I'd rather buy them mint 2nd handed from an active head-fier or from someone in USA who doesn't mind sending to EU.

As for production flaws, Grado is known for that and is also known for still selling them. At least with HF2, the flawed ones (the B-models) were a little bit cheaper.

Haha, yup, pricing is wierd here in Singapore too, a Grado RS1i retails for $1200 while just about two months back, a shop was having a promo that had the Burson 160D at the same price, $1200.

Finally some pictures come out. The owner also post the initial impression of ps500. He said "ps500 sound similar to PSK, quite balance through all frequency spectrum. Compared to RS1, RS1 has a bit farward mids and warmer sound than ps500."

Any idea on the retail price in China? Would be interested to know.

As for that last bit regarding the audition. It looks like this one could
be another treble happy phone like the 325i or GS1000i.

Kinda interesting cuz if the RS1 is warmer than the PS500 then it seems like the PS500 can't be considered a rebadged HF2. they would have tuned the PS500 to be less bassy and warm than the HF2.

oh, and I'm not a huge fan of the sparkles in that finish when seen up close. the quality seems OK but it doesn't look as nice as the matte HF2 finish or even the chrome 325is, imo.

That finish looks like the latest that they're using on the 325is too.

Yeah, HF2 sounds warmer & bassier than RS1i/MSpro to me. Its good to know that ps500s are not rebadged HF2s.

I prefer the latest gray powdercoating finish on sr325is & ps500 to the chrome grados, they simply looks cheap to me. Brushed alunumim is the best among the three.

I think there's hotglue stuck to the inside of the metal mesh....

Are those RS1's or RS1i's he's comparing too?  IOW, I think even the older RS1 might still be considered warmer than the HF2.
