Do you find the rs2e superior to the newer? I had the rs2 buttoned but the bass was too light to my hears.
I find the new series stronger in bassier frequency, even too much, like the sr325x in some songs. Do you find the rs2x too bassy? The previous is more balanced?
i do prefer the rs2x (i just swapped the drivers in my rs2e). the extra bass exactly makes the difference for my. they are still far from being a bassheads joice...
Grado is a straight shooter, would never lie. As an authorized dealer years ago in the NY area I dealt with them many, many times. John is down to earth and very serious like his uncle Joe was about always moving forward and looking to improve his product while maintaining value pricing (a Grado tradition). Their phono cartridges also evolve the same way. Joe Grado once had a highly regarded phono cartridge that sold for $12 and was reviewed as better than popular brands $50 to $100 retail models. Joe Grado also invented the moving coil yet never made and marketed one as he felt his design for his cartridges was superior.
Well, I've just ordered a GH2 on ebay. Comes with stock pads and BA Leather / Merino pads. The stock pads are apparently unused, so I will probably start there. Fingers crossed I love it.

You giving @plakat a 'like' on his reply to my post above worries me that you don't know which wires are which for the L & R channels. Before you do any soldering--do you know which are which? I know 100% being I've terminated every single Grado I own--or have owned to Neutrik 4-Pin XLR--with the exception of my 325is.
