I am wondering if these are legit. Seems to have a 3.5mm plug and 1/8” adapter. Thought these ones came with an 1/8” plug.
Any thoughts

? All my Grados are 1/4 TRS..... Which brings up a thought: could Grado offer, as an option (on website checkout), the one-piece (solid) 1/4" TRS plug rather than the 'two-piece' array shown in #65,133? .... .... fewer connectors --> better sound.
... are they one-piece 1/4 TRS, or 1/8 with a 1/8 --> 1/4 adapter?? All my Grados are 1/4 TRS.
I would hazard a guess that anyone that does the replaceable cable mod will also change the cable for you without the mod. If they do the replaceable cable mod then they will be used to opening up and soldering up what is required for that.Question for my Grado Lovers:
I have the GS3000x and am considering replacing the cable either from Grado directly or perhaps a 3rd party. Not looking for a replaceable cable mod. Do any of you have experiences with a 3rd party cable that includes installation?
Thanks!
Leo
They are all one piece 1/4. What is this 1/8 adapter? I had a coupe Grados came with 1/4 to 1/8 pigtail adapter. Could be my Grados are all super old... are they one-piece 1/4 TRS, or 1/8 with a 1/8 --> 1/4 adapter?
My RS-1 "button" and PS2000e have the one-piece TRS, the rest have 1/8 --> 1/4 TRS. I have a RS-1x and GS3000x with 4-pin XLR amp termination (which I sometimes use with Audiophile Ninja adapter to TRS).They are all one piece 1/4. What is this 1/8 adapter? I had a coupe Grados came with 1/4 to 1/8 pigtail adapter. Could be my Grados are all super old
After that it won’t be fighting you unless you turn around and twist all tight.Flex / twist the cable along its length for a minute or two before each 'session'; be patient; the cable will soften.
YES! Without question! I have both the GS2000e and the current flagship, GS3000x. I prefer the GE2000e, as to me it is brighter and more spacious while having good bass. However, there are several who discount the GS2000e as having a “wonky” response, so I may be in the minority or off in left field. I also have the Grado “forever” flagship, the PS2000e, which I would place ahead of both.I found a deal for a new pair of old stock GS2000e, about $1300. Is this worth it?
Grado 325i with 325x drivers and new version of x-series cable (left, below).
Grado assured me that my 325’is’ would be repaired with ‘e’ series drivers. Instead they installed x-driver and x-cable. Im not too mad assuming 325x driver because the new x-cable they installed is much improved over my old 325x’s cable. Anyways, 325ix sounds awesome! Will compare against 325x later but presumably same sound assuming same driver. The drivers look identical at least. Grado did not inform me of repair details.
