I have, I HAVE! I received the new GS-3000x from my wife as a big birthday present.https://www.head-fi.org/threads/com...-iems-8-dacs-6-amps-4-wireless-2-daps.913714/
if only @ruthieandjohn would knuckle down, buy some x-series grados then all this speculation could come to an end!
Unfortunately, after several days, the gimbal fell off (!). It is now back to Grado for warranty repair for the past 2-1/2 weeks.

A comparison review of RS1X and GS3000X

Had the same thing happen to my 3000x shortly after receiving. Rich Grado and I communicated and he suggested that it would be easier if he sent me two new gimbals. He said it was easy to handle the repair myself. I didn't know anything about replacing gimbals, but Rich was right and haven't had any problems since. Enjoy your headphones when you get them back!I have, I HAVE! I received the new GS-3000x from my wife as a big birthday present.

Lol. I guess I got the graffiti street art version.
In all seriousness though - first time I actually tried pad rolling with Grados. Gotta say - should have done this alot sooner. Loving the Jumbo G-Cush. Are they supposed to be for the SR80? I dont know, but it sounds pretty good so far. Also the TTVJ flats equally rock.
Edit: Having sound this good at this price point is damn near criminal.

Time to zigzag a bit. How are you finding the GH2 to be with Valhalla 2?It's too bad that the problem is common in their top of the line headphones.

SR80 is Grado gateway drug. Many are hooked on this headphone and 'upgraded' up the Grado chain from there. Or just stay content with SR80.
In my limited experience with pads rolling, I find it's best to stick with Grado pads. Whether it's F, L, G. They are very easy to snap on and take off. Sadly the ZMF pads are not for me. Changes the sound too much. Makes it warmer, more bassy and less treble energy. Have to increase volume too to compensate. ymmv.
The G pads on my GH1 were not meant for it too but when I bought that headphone 2nd hand, it came with it and there were no original pads. It turn out that I actually like the G pads with the GH1.

I wouldn't have enjoyed my Grados as much without this amp. I was right when I said, 'Amp completed, just add Grados'. Being able to buy NOS tube in black glass for $15 each is unheard of in the year 2023.The ability to use Brimar cv455 Footscray and GE 6y6g tubes in this amp, gives it that magical tone with my Grados. I now enjoy this system as much as my reference system with Susvara.

I haven't paired them up yet. I tried a few phones and then started tube rolling. For the tube rolling I wanted to stay consistent and stayed with the Clear's.Time to zigzag a bit. How are you finding the GH2 to be with Valhalla 2?
Then on Friday I got the HD660S2's, was a bit underwhelmed with the Valhalla 2 and hopped around a bit. Currently loving them on the iFi with a touch of bass boost.
Couple of more days with the Senns and then I have to try out my new dongles.
Next week will probably see me back at the Val2 VS LD MK9 competition. Zig zagging even more, the LD MK9 is "tubier", but the Val2 has great clarity.

SR80e comes stock with the flat S pads, the complete opposite of G cushions. Rather unheralded in the hierarchy of Grado pad designs, but they're alright.Lol. I guess I got the graffiti street art version.

Should I be concerned with this at all?
I’m guessing my ears touch the white mesh, and so the natural skin oils create a stain on that mesh.
Is that normal? It’s hard to avoid touching the mesh with these thin F-pads.
