So my one pair of Grado's has been the GH-1, I have had them for years and really love them. Thinking of getting a second pair to try something different, and was thinking either 325x or RS2x...any thoughts?
I just read your comparison list. and I didn't know there are so many Chinese Grado fans. In the Chinese online community, one guy had a lot of grados, his best grado are GH2, RS1(1st ) , GH4. GH2 was the best of the best to his like. he says the GH2 are very similar to GH4, ever so slightly tighter, and ever so slightly less on the high region. which is exactly what I wish for if I was nitpicking the GH4. similar opinions to your list.
thanks for the comparison
Don't break the HP2 !!!
I've been listening to some newly released live Dead. I've been listening with the GS3000x. Alternating between the Feliks-Audio Espressivio and Schiit Vali 2++ with a JW2c51 tube. Well, the Espressivio is an OTL amp and the Vali2++ I believe is a hybrid amp (correct me if I'm wrong). I have to tell you that the heavy bass of the drums on night 2 of the shows was flabby, and a bit uncontrolled on the Espressivio. With the Vali I had slamming bass, tight and controlled. Better sound stage with accompanying instrument separations. Very well balanced. Truly remarkable for such a tiny/inexpensive amp.....Highly recommend the Vali2++ with the JW2c51 tube. Spectacular with Grados... As always YMMV.

• The nominal impedance of GS3000x is 38 ohms - quite low compared to that which I estimate (guess!) for Espressivio: 50 to 100 ohms. That impedance mismatch would produce a bass boost lacking control.
• Meanwhile, Vali 2++ has output impedances of 0.4 ohms (low gain) and 1.8 ohms (high gain). These are low, in part, because Vali 2++ output stage is solid-state. As a result, GS3000x (and other Grados) work magic with Vali 2++. Add a stupendous tube such as JW2c51 to the mix, only can happen!

I have been strongly in heaven with my RS2x lately. But!
I will probably burn in hell for this, but i tested some eq to my RS2x and heaven is even a better place to be.
Much better.
Looking for some advice here. I'm looking to get my first amp and I have narrowed my choices down to the Liquid Spark and Atom. I will be using it with the Hemp. I will probably be using an RCA to 3.5mm cable to plug into a Belkin lightning adapter for now until I get an external DAC. The Belkin adapter is very good. I was looking into the Vali 2++ but since I will be using just my Belkin adapter with the RCA to 3.5mm cable with it for now, maybe it would be better to go with the cheaper options at this time but not sure. Any thoughts?
Yeah, I kinda figured that would be the case. I just wasn't sure if it would be worth getting it and using it with just the adapter that I have now. Thanks!
