Wow that makes me wish I pulled the trigger on the PS500x when I was considering it :') Assuming I like the 225x that arrive tomorrow, I was thinking about going for the RS2x or a used GH2/GH4 next. Sounds like the PS500x would've been a great choice given everything I've read about those other headphones. If anyone ends up wanting to sell theirs I'll take them off your hands!I recently sold my RS2x, but it only took a few minutes with the PS500x to convince me it's a more well-balanced headphone than both the RS2x and RS1x. In my opinion, the PS500x leans more towards the GH2 than the GH1. It's like a GH2 on steroids, blending in some of the best elements from the RS1x/RS2x.

Before snagging another Grado, I'd say give your 225x some playtime for a few weeks. Coming from ZMF, it's a pretty big shift.

Not sure how they can charge Provincial Tax... maybe Quebec is differentMan, consider yourself lucky, I had to drop $135 to FedEx this morning for my PS500x. We're skipping the duty, but here in Quebec, you can't dodge the tax, and it's a solid 14.975%.

Yep, in Quebec, we're always dealing with around 15% in import taxes. Trust me, you don't want to hear the amount I had to shell out for my Atrium...

Last round of teaching Canadian Business Law, every example given was followed by "except in Quebec".

certainly sounds like some excellent headphones. Hope I'll have cash on hand next time they do a neat limited release.I recently sold my RS2x, but it only took a few minutes with the PS500x to convince me it's a more well-balanced headphone than both the RS2x and RS1x. I really hope Grado decides to produce more PS500x, giving more people a chance to snag one.

Well .... for me, it has to be F-pads (Grado or TTVJ) on RS-1x :
"When I'm in my listening chair / when L-pads come on RS-1x / they're telling me more and more / about some shouty information / which only fires my irritation / I can't get no (satisfaction) / I can't get no (satisfaction) / 'cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try ...."

Ye they definitely get shouty with some tracks. There's even one or two albums I found it to be unbearable with. But that's why I got other headphones ig. The F pads just murder the stage. So we ended up in opposite camps. Tried to love the F pads, but I can't do it. Just goes to show how taste specific this hobby is and how important it is to consider that in these kinds of discussions.Well .... for me, it has to be F-pads (Grado or TTVJ) on RS-1x : "When I'm in my listening chair / when L-pads come on RS-1x / they're telling me more and more / about some shouty information / which only fires my irritation / I can't get no (satisfaction) / I can't get no (satisfaction) / 'cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try ...."
If they did a limited run, I think they'd still sell out in a relatively short time. I tried snagging one but they were already sold-out -- but no surprise given the very limited stock they started with.I really hope Grado decides to produce more PS500x, giving more people a chance to snag one.
But I wonder if it's that they no longer have any of those cups?

I do not experience an Agatha Christie 'murder on the soundstage'. With F-pads, that soundstage is less diffuse, more focused, and still has lots of 'air'. For me, it is akin to moving close to a 'front row'.Ye they definitely get shouty with some tracks. There's even one or two albums I found it to be unbearable with. Yes, it's because the PS series got discontinued a few years back, and they're not making those cups anymore.
