My personal EQ for GH2:

Preamp - 7dB for both

Stock L pads:
Low shelf 60hz, +4dB gain, 0.71 Q
Peak 9,500hz, -3dB gain, 2.4 Q

Just adding bass and lowering a minor peak on this one.

G pads:
Low shelf 60hz, +4dB gain, 0.71 Q
Peak 300hz, +2dB gain, 0.3 Q
Peak 2,200hz, +5dB gain, 1.41 Q
Peak 7,500hz, -5dB gain, 2.1 Q

Love the comfort of G cush but personally find it unlistenable without EQ. There's a massive boost to 7~8khz area causing sibilance and suck-out of mids with the added distance of the driver from your ears making it sound thin.

EQ is like salt & pepper, adjust to taste. :)
I use my different amps as my seasoning.

I have rs1x now and am planning to add another set of Grados.
Among Hemp or 3000x whichever I choose will it hold its own? Yes.. I wanna minimize overlaps in sound spectrum.

Out of those two I'd choose the Hemp... and it being cheaper is not my reason for that
Yet while the Hemp is fun and engaging, personally I miss a bit of that nice treble glitter.

The GS3000x is a beautiful headphone (to me anyway), and I don't doubt there are music genres that work better with it than my choices. But for my preferences the price is hard to swallow. It definitely falls into that try before you buy category.

Also I have a major complaint. You guys are costing me money. Again. Especially @jonathan c ...
Its not only that I did in fact manage to get one of those PS500x (I don't think Grado is sending out empty boxes, so that Fedex notification should carry some weight) but I've also found a used PS2000e. I sure hope the weight is not too bad and the sound more to my liking than with the GS3000x.

Nice. I asked Grado to list it as $200. Not sure if it'll work.
Got a call from FedEx today... They want $109.77 to deliver my package for duty and taxes (GST is $43.55)

I called them and said told them this is why I don't choose FedEx is possible... they cannot figure out there is no duty on US made items (USMEXCAN agreement)

I paid $55 shipping already... Grado stop using FedEx.. they are terrible pirates

Good that i didn't buy it.... For me it was also 50$ shipping but like with you they can somehow make it even more expensive then what it already is. ): This is why i really only want to buy from local retailers and sadly i only have very few that sell very lttle amount of stuff. (4 in whole country)

I opened a dispute... I'll have to wait an extra day, but they know I can report them to the Federal Government (Consumer Affairs) if they charge duty when it is not legal, also "brokerage" has to be reasonable.

In the past, they said they won't deliver to my house... I live 3 minutes from the depot... :gs1000smile:

FedEx (and sometimes DHL) are killing business.

I buy Grado at my buddy's shop usually, but this was a one-time thing he can't get.

Man, consider yourself lucky, I had to drop $135 to FedEx this morning for my PS500x. We're skipping the duty, but here in Quebec, you can't dodge the tax, and it's a solid 14.975%.

Keep me posted, and I'll open a dispute with FedEx too if it's working out for you. By the way, got the PS500x on my head right now, and damn, they sound awesome!

Congrats, they look great! Do you still have GH1 and RS2x? If so, I'd be interested in any comparisons to either of those if you get a chance :)

I recently sold my RS2x, but it only took a few minutes with the PS500x to convince me it's a more well-balanced headphone than both the RS2x and RS1x. In my opinion, the PS500x leans more towards the GH2 than the GH1. It's like a GH2 on steroids, blending in some of the best elements from the RS1x/RS2x.

That sure sounds interesting. I hope FedEx manages to deliver it tomorrow. Unfortunately they will collect duty… and fees…
