Speaking of Phantoms, your love of it got me to seek one out... I have that EA LE Phantom arriving next week!

does that mean I have to get another dog too? Sign me up :D

oh and @twister6, I borderline hate you for it, but you predicted that Erl sale... maybe you are secretly working with @doctorjuggles?
What's the story with the LE Phantom? I hadn't heard of it before you mentioned it in a separate post...

Similar in concept to the LX SE? internal wiring done by EA? or something else...?

The Phantom was my one and only attempt of getting a custom IEM. I loved the sound and once I had it in Universal I felt it was the one I wanted to go custom with. EE was patient with me but my concha would never cooperate. The green one you are getting looks wonderful.

It has a slightly retuned upper-midrange, and I believe there’s a slight improvement to its staging and air as well. I did prefer it as a brighter, clearer, more vibrant alternative over the original when I heard it in SG a year or so ago.

Yes I see you’re quoted extensively in the EE blog post!

If only there were more than a couple dozen made.

Yeah, I was pretty much the only one who talked about it before it swiftly ran out. I still stand by loving what it had to offer, though let's just say I'm more excited about the future as far as EE are concerned.

I needed to repay my wife for the Phantom, but you don’t have to use that one as an excuse to get more dogs. For one, because dogs are always awesome. For two, because considering your buying practices it would probably end you up...

Did you try a different audiologist?

I did try two different audiologists, three different molds, and 4 revisions by EE of those molds :)

In was a painful process not just in my ear :)
