Oh, the Asus ROG Steam Deck competitor has a bad microSD card implementation. Better to wait for 2nd Gen.

That's why I prefer the Steam Deck, more critical mass so more accessories and easy to return if needed. Discounts, etc.
I sold my ROG Ally when the Steam Deck OLED was announced and haven't looked back. I'm set on SteamOS as my primary handheld/portable platform. Windows needs a "mobile gaming" version to compete, otherwise the overhead and power draw will never compare to something ultra optimized like SteamOS.

Evening all - just in case anyone is interested (and this thread is still alive!) popped up a review of the recent Spirit Torino dual-DD IEMs (the Twin Pulse Beryllium). Hope you're all good!

I really enjoyed the Spirit Torino IEM, and will be including it in another upcoming review. An excellent first IEM from the company. And it’s gorgeous as well.

Haven't seen much discussion over here. Is there anyone who was able to hear the EE Triton prototype at CJ that cares to chime in?

We’ve been discussing it over on the Watercooler thread. ‘Quite a few impressions there already.

I pre-ordered a pair based on a demo of the SE6 edge - should be here in a couple weeks.

I have one here for review. Should be up in a week or two.

Any early impressions?

It has a focus on vocals and is extremely resolving. It's not forgiving on poor recordings so things like inherent sibilance stand out. The soundstage isn't all that wide but the imaging is exact. The timbre is great - hi-hats and cymbals sound incredible. It's an intense experience for sure. The passive noise isolation is boss. These are just early impressions and are subject to change with more critical listening - just putting that out there but they're pretty amazing.

While I impatiently wait for the "Ham flappy IEM" (Traillii), I decided to give the Elixir another shot and to my surprise, found an excellent pairing with the DX300 (DAP burned-in with 200 hours) and the Silver Null Audio AAW Thera 8-Wire cable.

The pairing reminds me of the LXSE quite a lot! I wish I had both to A/B, but I'd say that staging technicalities are about the same, with Elixir being being slightly less thick with more precise imaging and perhaps better in depth. The Elixir pairing gives off a "oval holographic" feel to the soundstage without a height emphasis.

LXSE has more activity in lower treble (never would think LX and energetic lower treble would go in the same sentence right? lol), meanwhile Elixir with a bit more upper treble air.

Bass is tight and clean on both, whereas LXSE extends a bit deeper on the subbass and still comes across with a more visceral slam. Mids are quite equal to my ears, both coming across as perhaps slight U-shapes or leaning W. Both have somewhat "dry" but linear mids, with Elixir being a bit more upper mid focused. LXSE has slight advantage in overall extension in the frequencies, although detail-retrieval is pretty equal.

As much I love the HAM-Flappy IEM and Infinity, it is always refreshing to just have the DD pounding away in your ears. Can't wait to hear more impressions since Barra's tour kicked off officially I think. Aure Flame should be interesting too.
Just, if you find these ones (Elixir)... :

They are, hum... pretty good :beerchug:  :L3000:

I have some information that stongly suggests that the Aure Custom Inears could be re-produced (last activity : 2023, post covid )... Probably new models, I guess.

Personally, I am delighted because - for me - it is the summit of the mountain. :dt880smile:
