After almost 2 years, the plastic curve section close to the MMCX connector of the C106 cable that comes with my B3 is broken. It doesn’t affect the usability, but I’m afraid I will need a new cable soon, as the silver wiring is now exposed. Could you help me with some suggestions for a similar silver cable with the same look but softer? My biggest problem with the C106 cable is that the plastic protective part is too hard.
I found the Dunu DUW 01, which seems to be on par with what I’m looking for.

I have had the heaven VI since 2015. Still my favorite. VII must be even better.
VII sounds very different from VI, more transparent with leaner bass.
Not everyone's cup of tea. I think I prefer V and VI over VII.

I was about to sell my e3000 the other day, but decided to give it a last listen while out walking and haven't put it down since. I forgot how insanely hard they are to drive. My FIIO M6 goes 0-120 in volume. With most IEMs I get comfortable volume level around 65-70... And go to 75 occasionally if I need to with some IEMs. The e3000 has me over 90 and it's far from overly loud lol. With my Xiaomi phone... Even 100% isn't close to diving them.

I actually don't use the excellent Final E tips with them. I tried the FIIO vocal tips that come with the newer models and prefer them. They open the e3000 up even further. The soundstage is remarkable. That silent background really adds to the separation. A shame the cable is so bad.

I use the FIIO FD5 as my daily set. It's got a huge soundstage too, but the e3000 can match it. In fact, they actually share a lot in common. The FD5 is the higher quality sounding, but it is £275. Anyone who likes the e3000 but wanting a higher level of sound should consider them in IMO.

Edit... Decided to keep them btw 😉

Wouldn't that price range get you an E5000? In my country, FD5 is a bit more expensive than E5000. I have both and found that E5000 is a more refined one, though the other one is no slouch.

Tbh, I've had the e2000/3000/4000 and liked them all, but the e5000 never appealed to me and spending well over £200 back when it came out was not within my budget. There were too many reviews saying the e5000 sounded too dark or overly warm and that they weren't a massive upgrade on the e4000.

From a quick glance back at reviews old and new a moment ago, it's still not an IEM that would interest me based on my personal preferences. The FD5 is far from dark, a sound quality that I tend to shy away from in earphones. Tho I'm sure the e5000 has it's plus points.

If you found E3000 hard to drive, E5000 is way harder to drive haha.
In fact, not many amps can drive it satisfactorily, due to the very low sensitivity. The E5000 sounds very boomy and bloated in the bass if not properly driven. So much so that so far I had to use the E5000 with desktop amps, which is a bit of a bummer considering I would rather use headphones if that were the case.

E5000 is quite lush and dark and is a very acquired niche tuning. The lack of sparkle and big bass may make it not so all-rounder. I bought mine 2nd hand at $124 USD, so I guess there are good deals to be found if you search some second hand forums and stores, but I wouldn't have paid full price for it, due to the very niche tuning and power-hungry requirements.

I found that it does stereo staging quite well, especially in terms of depth and layering. No surprise, as it’s frequency response traces Andromeda 2020 quite closely, besides the massive boost below 500hz.

E5000 is the only IEM in my collection that requires more than an Apple dongle, btw. That tiny IEM is surprisingly hard to drive (properly).

I'm looking for a IEM that is small enough to almost disappear in the ear when you wear it. I came across the E series and thought it might work to replace the Etymotic hf5 I broke recently. Are they smaller than the Etymotic hf5? Are all of the E series the same size? The Moondrop Spaceship was another option I'm considering.

E4000 and E5000 are longer. They poke out of my ears a bit. E3000 completely disappears in my ears.

Coming from Etymotic, you might be surprised by the bass of E series. But it would become familiar soon enough.

I generally have a problem with the fit of IEMs, but the E3000 are the most comfortable ones in my collection. They are both unobtrusive and secure.
