I tend to agree with him that CIEMs as a whole look ugly. But when in use, all you see is the faceplates, and the UERM's standard ones look actually quite classy imo.

I agree. That's why I got the standard black and clear too. I just like looking at them.

I like the UM white faceplates with metallic UM logo inlays too.

Those are two seriously different sound signatures. The PF series are quite mid-centric, limited bass extension/slam, and certainly not an all-rounder. But when they are on, they are quite unique and involving.

I had both. IE800 is a bit boring, as every Senn, and much too expensive. For the same price, FI-BA-SS fits more the bill.  
PF is really interesting, always engaging. Plus I found PFVIII new for 450 USD.

Heaven II sounds too thin, both IV and VI have very lush mids in comparison.
