Usual question I guess, but E2000 vs E3000? I've heard people lean towards the E2000 thanks to the heavier bass.
Pretty sure it was the other way around. E2000 is a bit more treble friendly with the direct upgrade path being the E4000. E3000 is a bigger sound with thicker note weight--the direct upgrade path being the E5000.

Ah yes, you're correct.

I guess my worry is the E2000 will be too anaemic on the bass side. I have the RE-400's and everyone has so much praise for them but I find them to be a difficult listen as the bass is just so lacking in them. I've heard a few people prefer the E2000 over the E3000 but I worry they might lack bass.

I'm curious as to how the E3000 compares to something like the Shure SE215, which I found to have too much bass.

I personally never really liked the SE215. It had bloated, congested bass and that bass bled so much into the lower mids that the whole midrange sounded boxy. The treble on the other hand had too early a downslope resulting in this darkened treble response which instead of being relaxing turned more claustrophobic. The soundstage was too narrow and imaging was non-existent.

All I can say is that the E3000 evokes the absolute opposite emotions to that of the SE215 whenever I listen to them

The E2000 is not anemic on the bass side. I slightly prefer the E3000 over the E2000. Meanwhile, my middle child prefers the E2000. At the cost of the two, I would suggest you buy both then pass on the less preferred model to family/friend. Both models can easily compete within their price range. I have the RE-400. For my taste, both the E2000 and E3000 are superior to the RE-400 in like everything. They are better technically than the RE-400 and are neck and neck with the RE-600, when properly powered. I much prefer the RE-600 over the RE-400. Now the RE-600 vs. the E2000 and E3000? Well, they are stellar performers for their price. Different tunings for different tastes.

So I own both the E2000 and the E5000. The bass is quite good for a $40 iem on the E2000. That was never what it was lacking imo (mostly its just some resolution/timbre isn't as refined as the E5000). Hifiman IEMs all lack bass imo. They are mid-centric to a fault and sound unnatural to me. Well, tbh, I have only heard the RE0 and RE-Zero (still own the RE0). Was not impressed either way with their sound signature.

E2000 has plenty of bass imo.

Already crazy Final fans. I have taken the plunge and ordered the Flares Pro 2 HD. I already know I will likely return them as my wife would kill me if I own two pretty expensive headphones so close together. But I can at least write a little review of them compared to the E5000. Literally no one has compared the Flares to other dynamic driver iems--its always those awkward shaped multi-BA iems. I have a feeling the Flares will be "better", but I'm HIGHLY skeptical its a $200+ difference.

Hi all, fellow B3 owner here and I'm really enjoying the sound signature and tonality of the B3. I'm looking to invest in a pair of open-back cans. Does anyone here know of any cans that sound similar to the B3's? I'm looking into the ZMF Aeolous since I've heard positive reviews of the sound.

In what way? What are the differences in sound signature? I'm guessing the Flares have less warmth. Do they sound bigger than the E5000?
