Anyone who has E5000 and Audioquest Nighthawk? Similar tuning?

I’ve demo’d the E5000 and AQ Nighthawk.

Completely different. If anything, the E5000 is more like the NightOwl. Warm and rounded notes. Although the E5000 sounds more balanced overall.

Are we expecting the MAKE series to come westward? And if so, are they gunning to make it just as good as the E5000? It's hard to tell what they're going for with them in terms of where they fit in the market.

If they end up being similar enough though (and available in North America) I'd probably prefer the MAKE more because of that bean shape.... Hmm.

Oh ya, the E5000 is super comfortable because of how small and light it is. Isolation is surprisingly good as well because the thin nozzle can go deep. Just some info for people wondering about ergonomics.

Tbh, the demo unit Empire Ears Supra-II I have and chose over the E5000 has even better isolation, comfort and SQ (flatter and wider soundstage for my preferences). It was a tough call. E5000 would have been an instant buy if not. I would say E5000 = Massdrop Plus level sound. Much better than the Comets for sure but like $100 more. All three are very good value.

E5000 has a more solid bass, more dynamic sound, more textures, feels more vivid as well. The treble is also better extended.
Thx! It seems that you like E5000 better than Nighthawk. Others who have both?

Ouch! I always struggle with the universal fit type monitors (hell even the dinky westone um1 gives me issues!), so figured I would be better of with a Comet and custom tips. Must admit the 5000 does look tempting though.

Comets have a ok fit too and great passive noise isolation. Best fitting universals I’ve tried imo are the IT01, Supra-II and Xelento.

Anyone compared E5000 to Oriveti New Primacy?

Anyone compared E5000 to Oriveti New Primacy?

I will do a full write-up. Long story short, E5000 does not have driver flex, like ONP does, E5000 has a better default cable, as for the sound, they are somewhat similar, though E5000 has more impact, more quantity in the bass, and they are just more punchy in general. The treble is brighter and has a tad more sparkle on Oriveti New Primacy. Midrange is incredibly natural and just easy to listen to on both, but the enhanced comfort of E5000 makes it.... more easy to recommend.

Is the soundstage of the E5000 really that good? Like Andromeda level?

Lmao, it’s nowhere near Andromeda level but I would rate it as Massdrop Plus level in terms of SQ, isolation, comfort, accessories and value (quite a praise) except it has a warm + sweet sound signature.

Instant buy for me (despite having the Andromeda) if it were not for my Supra-II purchase.

It is not IT04 level of large, but it is large.

Most warmer stuff tends to not be quite this large, but E500 is one of the really larger sounding ones.

The main issue for me is that they leak noise quite a lot ..

I agree, just noticed after more usage, my girl can hear my death metal through them, although not if I am not blasting it really loud

Suddenly I don't feel quite so bad about never having tried these before getting the FH5s. :triportsad:

If you need absolute isolation, both FH5 and IT04 provide more than E5000, especially in terms of leaking, E5000 can leak a bit when you blast them loud. On the other hand, I don't hear quite that much from the outside through them, so they isolate fairly well from the outside noise, just not from you to outside :)
