I happened to found these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HWZY75K/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/185-8704443-5272214

Now that explain why the Fi-BA-SS works so well with the AK240. Nevertheless, detachable cable!!! I believe this is the first of their IEM line up to have detachable cable. Wonder how will the sound change with aftermarket cable(if they are available that is)

Just got the VIII today and it took me a little bit to wrap my head around this sound. Still own the V and VI and the sound just gets warmer as I go up the chain. The VIII has a very big sound and the bass has a lot of body. I'm guessing the housing plays a major part to this sound. Lovely sound and I think this might be too warm for the neutral fan. I on the other hand chose this one over the VII because I expected more warmth. Absolutely beautiful looker and the cable is stellar finally.

The VIII is warmer than V? would you mind elaborating on their differences, since I've had a V loaner before?

Haven't heard the V and VI, but going by FR I'm pretty sure the VII are less warm. So the chain's not a steady increase to the VIII.

@SGS: think of the VIII as the Dita The Answer, just a tad richer but without the treble spike you're sensitive for.

From memory I'm thinking the Dita Answer is less warm than the Heaven V. That's a good thing if my memory is correct but I had a pretty short time with the Dita, so I don't trust my memory of it any more. Plus that was a long time ago. Maybe someone can confirm.

I sure wish the VIII came in that awesome matte black (or even a matte gunmetal or something), like the VII. I just could never go with a gold IEM...

For me, the VI's bass reached slightly deeper over the V. Overall sound was a tad thicker. VIII's bass is noticeably fuller while retaining excellent quality. It's meaty bass and shocks me that it sounds like this. The treble is smoother than both V and VI but I hear more detail. Added space and separation is noticeably better also. When I say warmer is because I hear a fuller, not as thin but thicker overall sound.

Never looked at FR or heard VII but this is what I hear with the three I have. I'm sure you're right and from previous impressions, that's why I chose the VIII. I'm also not as gifted with impressions or have the technical knowledge as some of you so I'm sure my take could be taken as utter crap.

Just got mine in.

Definitely more narrow soundstaging than I'm used to.  The seal is almost vacuum-like.
But it is definitely a good partner until my 335s return.
