Hi guys,

I just posted my comparison review between the D8000 which I own and the loaner Pro Edition I received from final Japan.

I was thinking about creating a Pro Edition thread since it deserves its own, but I’m not sure if everyone will be happy bouncing between two threads. If a more experienced member on this topic would like to provide feedback about this, I’m all ears.

Cool , I find the Pro a cross between a TH900 and a Utopia.

Thanks for the info. My question to you is this: I have the Final D8000 with upgraded Final Audio silver cable. I don't listen to music super loud. Do you think the improvement in sound of the D8000 Pro is enough that I should put my D8000 up for sale and purchase the new Pro version? Is the detail change that dramatic?

Ill say yes , everything much more open , detailed , extended. Use bot . Best of both worlds.

I’m not sure whom your addressing for an answer, but I’ll chime in. Some of us here find it hard to take such a hit on selling their D8000s, but if that is of little matter to you, and you would like a more forward midrange with extended trebles, then go for it, it really is a great headphone, in my view. I reported in my review the other enhancement I heard was the greater amount of decay on the entire frequency range, creating a big soundstage; hard to quantify such things, but if I took a shot at it, I’d guess somewhere like a 10-15% improvement in an atmospheric sound that is super involving.

If I decide to sell my D8000s on Ebay to buy the Pro model, I would need at least $2800 for them. The problem with selling on Ebay is that no one looks at Final Audio headphones (still relatively an unknown headphone). Do you lose the good bass for more clarity and treble?

I don’t think so.

Hello,

just to share, Steven from Audiosensibility just added the option of connectors compatible with the D8000.
I quote his email to me:

Good news! The thin 3.5mm connectors I have work great with the Final Audio Sonorous. I did an actual listening test yesterday with the following new Impact SE headphone cable.
https://audiosensibility.com/blog/p...o-Slim-Final-etc/p/166144338/category=8516930

I have also added this headphone connector option for the Statement OCC Silver headphone cable
https://audiosensibility.com/blog/p...-Headphone-Cable/p/152872083/category=8516930

Choose
Headphone Connectors: 3.5mm TS - Slim Mono (Final Audio and other slim entry)

cheers

I am sitting on the fence waiting to pull the trigger for the Pro version, were it not for the upcoming release of the new Heddphones with ATM technology.
I was able to listen to both, the D8000 (not pro) and the Heddphones, alas not side by side, but what I remembered was that both performed pretty close.
But there is a huge price difference, the Heddphones will go for around $1800, which will, at least for me, make it very difficult to commit to the Final D8000 pro, if it should be confirmed through future listening tests, that they perform very similar.

Do they make any other cable options? I'm trying to find a 4 pin xlr cable but no luck.

I believe the final silver cable can be ordered with a 4-pin XLR.
