I don't have words to describe this trio: DX220, AMP8-EX, Sennheiser IE800S.
Really no words.
One thing is 100% sure: iBasso deserves my money for the next device, hoping that the new module design will be compatible because the AMP8-EX is more than stunning.
@Whitigir you are a genius!

The combo is stunning, I wish I had a stock DX220 to compare with my DX220 Ex just so I can get some sort of idea of how much better it is. iBasso truly makes awesome products.

I have fairly new Layla's and yes the mids are very back, not forward at all. Had to send them back 4 times on my dime to get them even close to decent sounding. I have several other CIEM's that are much better performers.

is yours a custom or universal layla, maybe the layla aion is tuned differently

i have the lola, angie, and roxanne, one thing i noticed jhaudio iems are ok listening to at low volumes, but somehow they shine more at louder volumes, which is strange, but lola can be enjoyed at lower volumes.

so far I think I like lola the most, but Roxanne for rock music is amazing

New firmware is definitely the best so far for me in trems of sq as well as the stability, on 1.5 firmware my player was much warmer to touch now its a lot acceptable,
Big difference is the sound, wich is more revealing as someone stated earlier, yes its a bit bright, crisp, lots of details in highs, lot more micro details, bass is tighter
Bravo ibasso
By the way Paul is sending a new replacement batterie, :ksc75smile:
