in what ways? i believe you just wondering what you think is better/differnt

Sorry for the short words before. So Plenue D has a more spatial sound and more detail, the sound is more alive in him (we found the sound of the FiiO X1 totally dead). In addition to Plenue D battery lasts 100h (MP3) / 50h (FLAC) is lighter than the X1 and has smaller size. I do not feel any need to use extra amplification with Plenue D (my headset is JH5).

Note: I've heard the FiiO FiiO X1 + E12A with JH5 and still prefer the result with my Plenue D alone.

Even though you don't need an amp, if you use one it will definitely increase the battery life. This is true for any DAP though. So 50h can be 100hrs or more!

Here is a picture to illustrate: http://www.head-fi.org/t/789488/cowon-plenue-d/2730#post_12590747

Screen X1: 2.0"
Screen PD: 2.8"

On the screen, the image quality, the Plenue D has a screen with much higher quality and brightness.

well you were saying the D is smaller then the X1 body wise?

Yes, when I said I was smaller, it was the body as a whole, but as you spoke of the screen, I decided to describe about too.

FiiO X5 first generation for 199 right? I thought it was the X5 second generation you were talking about ... The Plenue D in the Amazon is being sold for 199.

I just saw that the D is at $199 on Amazon.  I bought mine for $239 and paid $10 extra dollars for the silver one.  The gold one was $229 when I bought mine now it's $199.  Thinking about returning mine and getting the gold one and pocketing the $40.  Kind of lame that they aren't both the same price.

Plenue D not listed in stock on amazon, and out of stock at amp3.  Must either be a)selling like hot cakes, or b)discontinued?
