If I use it without an amp I have to use the EQ, which is cool.

Try it with the EQ off and turn up the volume. It will sound more true. At least it does for me.

The D does not have any metering skins, if it did it would be really small. Not bad idea either way as the D does need more skins. The CD one is lame as it puts a big hole in the middle of the artwork and with some the artists face just has a big hole in the middle and looks stupid. Cowon should create more practical skins.

You want to hear the best from plenue D..? Try to pair it with vorzuge pure 2+. The sound diff is night and day. All the details are in your ears. My ciem is UERR. Top notch.

+1 That's a great amp I've read about yes. Anything from Ray Samuel is great too. I also use P-51 which is great for mids.
