The foam in Pelican cases is usually Pick and Pluck foam (essentially, pre-perforated so you can easily pull out the desired amount of foam).

Just wondering if has any one out there tried their Denons with a HiFiMan carry case? 
I want to buy one but want to make sure if fits properly before I pull the trigger.

I manage to find a picture from another thread where they head the Denon D*000 headphone inside a HiFiMan case like this:
If you notice on the second picture the case has been slightly modified to better accommodate the D*000 headphone.

Just ordered one of these for my D5k, will update when it comes in from the US

I bought the Hifiman case for my Denon D7000 and they fit perfectly.

They came in today, and while I really like this case, I'm a nitpicker and a perfectionist, so I'm going to "mod" em a little bit.

- because the inner materials are too hard, so it scratches on a d5k --> going to put in satin (which would essentially make the inside the same as a d7k case)
- because I don't want to stress the cable when I put em inside, I'm going to have to start the incision for the cups a bit higher

Build quality is excellent, shipping was 4 days from hongkong to holland. It's looks quite big when you receive it, but in the end, the size is just right.
