I wanna hear a DT931 so I can add it to my comparison thread.

Quite similar to a DT880'250, but -typical for the 90's- coupled with a very prominent presence section. A preresistor helps a bit though.

I am using it with a preresistor even though I dont know right now how a ohm resistance changes the frequency response characteristic of the headphone except the loudness..

Any chance you can let me borrow them so I can do a video review? I can pay for the shipping.

Depends on where and how and überhaupt :)

Send me a PM..

The series resistor (or amplifier output impedance) interacts with the complex impedance of the headphone, which varies with frequency, and forms a voltage divider that imparts an EQ on the headphone. Beyerdynamic's own A1 amplifier has 100 ohm output impedance which serves this purpose.

The damping factor changes, because the overall impedance of Z is higher??

Simulated all at work today and now I believe and have seen that the complex impedance of the headphone varies and 120 Ohm is well suited for that.. :)

does anyone have any suggestions?????? (page 80)

I have had the DT990 and DT880 but didnt really auditioned them. To make an advice I can only say that it is maybe helpful to post in another suitable thread. :frowning2:

Just got the DT880 32 ohm a week ago. Very neutral, very nice. 9/10 (only bad side is the high-pitched sibilance)

I have the DT880 ed. 2005 as kind of a reference

(That is, I presume, until I can afford the T1)

I also have the DT770/250  and the DT231 pro.

Let's see, my first taste of a grown up headphone was the old 600 ohm dt990, the one with the plastic and cloth headband. Then I had the dt990 pros, dt880, dt531, dt250/80 (the unsung hero), the dt990 600 ohm Manufaktur, the t50p, and now I'm on the t5p. Those "Beyer is team treble" people don't know how to pair them with a decent source IMHO.
