I got my DT990 Pro's (250 ohm) last week and these being my first set of "nice" (my bose QC2's I consider to be nothing more than nice earmuffs now) headphones... I was blown away. I literally get the same clarity from these things as with a $6k+ speaker system. Are they balanced perfectly? No. They definitely do colour the sound, but they do so in a wonderful way. When I'm wearing headphones all I want is to enjoy the music. If it completely changes the song into something that sounds delightful, then so be it. I haven't yet thrown something at them that they struggle with. Only thing is the low bass sometimes is iffy and not well defined.

I creamed my pants when I got my DT990s. Even though I had D7000s, the DT990s were just unbelievable. A few hours later, however, I realized how terrible the mids/highs are and had to return em.

Really? I loved the mids/highs on the DT990s, but found the bass lacking. 770s have far better bass (of course) but definitely feel closed on the highs. Haven't tried a pair of 880s yet, sadly...

I thought that at first, but the burn-in is ESSENTIAL to getting the trebble to sound correct. Right out of the box the trebble was unbearably harsh. Once I let them burn in for 100 hour (Just left them playing my library on shuffle for a few days) they sounded pristine.

It took me a very long time to acquire these beyer DTX10 earbuds.  They are terrible and literally cut my ear once i placed them in my ears, gave a little for a bit and then wiggled them slightly to reposition them.  Im upset.  Let it be known! lol

Hi guys I need some help, I'm planning on buying open cans (ofcourse Beyerdynamic). I own a pair of BD DT 770 PRO (80 Ohm) & I love them to death, but some of the music I listen to needs a "bigger soundstage" . I do listen to all kinds of music but the two genres I listen to most is Rock (Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Morphine ++) &  Jazz (Coltrane, Armstrong, Basie ++) The amp I use is a Argon HA1 or better known as Firestone Cute Beyond (rebrand for the scandinavian market I think, but it is more or less the same amp).
Price range for the cans 50- 350 $, it does not need to be from the DT series but also the DTX series. the only BD cans I have heard is the 770pro and some vintage BD DT 302.
So I hope you all will help me.
