I've been blessed with the DT801 phones for over 10 years now and still love them! They have everything that defines "quality sound" ... shame i can't find a way to get my ear off the driver though, it can be a bit discomforting...

Just got the DT880's. They're as comfy as people claimed, and being one of my first 'real' headphones they sound fantastic even w/o an amp! I was afraid it was going to be this tinny mess w/o it, maybe my ears just havent gotten spoiled yet.

Got an entry level amp in the mail today so I'll see how much of a difference that can make once I make it back home.

I am a happy owner of a DT 880’05 250 Ohms Version since few weeks. Wow, it’s a great, very great Headphone.

Amazing… Sincerely, I was very surprised. Because I did not think that K340 can lose its supremacy so quickly and so easily. Indeed the K340’s was at the top since two years in my ears. I must admit it’s over since few weeks. Of course, the K340’s is unmistakably a very great Headphone too. Simply I prefer the DT 880 now.

I’ll wish to purchase a second DT 880’s but what version : 250 or 600 Ohms ?

What are the sonic differences in your opinion ?

Thanks for your advices.

All the best

While I'm an "advanced" Darth (32ohm Darths, and X-Deep Darths) person and dt990/600 owner...........I used to have dt880/600. If you luv dt880 - then 600 ohms is the only way to go. Greatly smooths out the treble and is wholly solid in the bass. I wouldn't even consider the 250ohm version (I also owned a pair of 2003 dt880/250).

This was absolutely my opinion as well. I had both the 250 ohm and 600 ohm versions at the same time, and the 600 ohm version is much better in the treble. All the detail and sparkle with none of the pain or shrillness.

I'm familiar with KT88's K340's so a comparison between it and the DT880 would be great to read!

I would have written a feedback on this subject with pleasure but it's difficult for me because my English Language is approximate

However I shall try to post some impressions.

Hi,

First post. Just want to share my positive experience with the BeyerDynamic DT440. These are my second proper headphones - my first being the Sennheiser HD280pro.

I was disappointed with the Sennheisers, but I'm very impressed with the DT440. Considering the price, the only thing I would realisticaly expect to be better is their comfort levels.

Well I guess I can join the club now as well. I just got my DT150 in the mail yesterday, and I have been enjoying them ever since! I got them used so I'm pretty sure they are thoroughly burned in. I look forward to many happy hours with these.
