just wondering what headphone band did you get? mine has been peeling quite badly
If you are gentle you can peel off the peeling leather as I did, the inner foam still has a fabric cover so you can very gently rub off all the dry, flakey leather and you can end up with a real nice very dark grey fabric finish.

I got a used pair and need to replace the earpads - with stock pads - is there a secret or any tips to getting the pads back on the 'phones?! Swearing doesn't seem to help...
Patient and lots of it 😃

Once you get like a quarter way in try to the turn the earpads to slide more of the sleeve in

I thought the ear pads were easy to put on and off.

They are easy off....
So the old ones were dirty - took them off to clean but realized I need a new pair & ordered them. In the meantime while waiting for them I thought I would put the old ones back on & this might be practice to learn how it would go. The old ones seem impossible - I'm hoping the new will be stiffer or something that makes putting them on possible....

Ditto. Nothing particularly tricky about it.
Well here's how that went.
The original earpads are made of crap. The "leather" delaminates from the fabric base, peeling results, then structurally it is weakened and then it becomes nearly impossible to impossible to reseat it in the groove. Before the new pads arrived I had tried to practice with the old. One was impossible - too much material was lost from the flange that seats in the groove. The other one I was able to re-fit, so I had some confidence that when the new ones came I could do it,
(This was an Ebay sale wherein the phones were described as "like new". Price was right, though, so I'm keeping them.)
New pads arrive (the A-T HP-EP pads). They are obviously of better material - looks like the surface should last long - WAY better. And the flange is also much more generous. So with a little patience it was an easy install.
And today the headband wrap arrives to cover up the same crap material that is peeling from the headband. The drivers seem impressive so far. More to come.

Well, these headphones have no right to sound as good as they do! They're $249.

They're always on my top recommendation
I also have Shure SRH1540 headphones and Meze 109 Pro headphones. I reach for these Audio-Technica headphones as often as the others. I love the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7B headphones! I did not enjoy the Meze Empyrean. These headphones play to a way higher tier with the right source. Money doesn't always equate to sound.

The Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7B headphones balanced pair amazingly well with Sony NW-WM1Z! They also pair great with Lotoo Paw Gold Touch.

Hey,
nothing to see but I've just listened yesterday to two Bluetooth headphones at the Fnac near my home, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra and the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2, and well I was extremely disappointed compared sonically to the MSR7b which decidedly outclasses these two by light years...
I'm definitely still disappointed with Bluetooth headsets at the moment.
To start sounding as good as the MSR7b, I really think you need to go up at least $800.
I think Audio Technica really got the MSR7b's price range wrong (much to our delight :o2smile:)
Cheers' :)

Hello sorry if these had been asked before but is it safe to assume that MSR7b is the superior headphone compared to MSR7? I thought MSR7 and MSR7b are essentialy the same only differed in accessories but it seems there are differences in sonic qualities as well?

it’s a preference, but the Msr7b are technically better and balanced.
