New headbands cost $14. There's not much reason not to buy a new one at that price.

I had the ATH-ESW9 couple years back but sold it to try the ATH-ESW11JPN.  But missed the ESW9, it's tubelike warmth and wonderful full mids and punchy bass.  So finally ordered another ATH-ESW9.  Should have them this week.

Quite, I'd assume. Just unscrew the headband, slide the old one out, and the new one should have adhesives.
