Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread

I haven't heard nearly enough DACs and Amps to make a comparison ranking, but my 2016 Audio-GD NFB-28 is truly exquisite.

Forget what you may have heard about SABRE chips. The timbre is slightly warm, full-bodied, and profoundly natural.

I'm sure there are superior products out there, but this is so good, I've never felt the need to seek an upgrade. Feeding my LCD-2, LCD-3, and HD800, it always sounds delicious. It's just so bloody good! :D

I get great synergy with my LCD-3F (2016) and the Audio-Gd R2R-11. Call it “entry level” if you like but it sounds better and is more powerful than anything I’ve heard under $1000, and certainly far better and more suited to driving the LCD-3 than the Mojo. Of course you can just get a decent amp for it and use the Mojo as a dac. As always, YMMV.

I may just be getting an amp for the mojo or may be sth like ifi micro idsd black label. Probably prefer something that i can put away instead of having one extra piece of equipment that is stationary on my desktop works better for me with my limited desk space. So my options are kind of stuck with equipment that are small and that usually means portable devices. :frowning2:

Totally agree with that. I use a NFB-11.28 and it’s a perfect match also.

If anyone has a clue about what to do about this I will be eternally grateful.

I got some Krazy Glue with the little brush and it's all back into place. I'm glad it's just cosmetic.

Thanks for the help!

The LCD-3 is no bloody joke. It's a serious step up from the LCD-2. It's significantly smoother, more liquid, and refined-sounding. It's resolving at a higher level. The sound is clearer, cleaner, and more holographic. The bass is on a whole other level. I can't quite figure out what it's doing, but I like it! :D
Can you or anyone else comment on the sound-stage ? Thanks

I mean, it's huge, but it's not the biggest out there. It's no HD800, but things absolutely feel spacious and three-dimensional.

I find soundstage to be okay but just okay. And its boundaries don't extend outward the way I'd like when there's air and reverb present in the music. The LCD-3 may have its strengths, but soundstage isn't really one of them at least to my ears. Mine's getting returned to the local shop in the morning.
