Well it's probably the same design as modern smartphones - glass sandwich with metal frame. It's not that hard to open up, any smartphone service shop could do it and there are a bunch of guides on youtube as well, most use a heatgun.
The bigger issue could be finding the specific battery, unless you could buy a direct replacement part.

There is an electric hot plate you can buy that heats to the correct temperature to soften the glue. Once glue is soft after a few minutes, you pry open the device and access the battery. Get the measurements and specs for it, 3.7 volts and the mAh. Then order a battery from eBay or somewhere else and install with solder iron.

Completed testing standby time.

Given:

FW version 0.08beta
Bluetooth -> OFF
Standby mode -> ON
Play on PAUSE
IEMs connected

23:40 -> 68% batt - start of the test
10:40 -> 65% batt - end of the test

Equals:

3% -> 11 hours = 0.27% / hour
100 / 0.27 = 370 / 24 = 15 days

So, AP80 with FW 0.08beta consume 0.27% of battery per hour in standby mode + play put on pause and can stay as long as 15 days until full discharge.

I think that the problem of headphonics is that they haven't turned on Standby mode.

Hello @kenloveme

You promised to update this thread thread about the AP60Pro firmware. Do you have any news?

The AP200 seems to be stuck in a 0.XX beta software at the moment too.

Would be appreciated!!

Cheers.

Thanks a lot for the test! Appreciate it! It really clears everything. Thanks,

Snap! Me too :)
Well done!

I also did a test today.
I did intend to do it for 24 or 48 hours but I think I will take it with me tomorrow. So its now on recharge.

Excuse me as I copy and paste so we have the same testing format.

Start: 21:29 today

Finish: 09:55 today

*Real time 9:45am to 10:10pm = 12 & a 1/2 hours - my AP80 clock is set improperly. But my ipod touch photos have the correct time stamp. Same, same.
(Clock has been set properly now- I am used to wifi daps automatic time settings). :wink:

(Rough estimate 12 hours - see clocks).

12 hours a loss of 2%. On Sleep mode.

I changed the theme color so you could see more easily.

Needs more full testing from 100% and watching it tick over to 95% exactly.
But we get a rough idea.

(I also didnt see I had to turn on the stand by until this morning - usually I shut down my daps anyways).

Already charged back up to 91% whilst I have been typing this. Photos taken 10:11pm, now 10:41pm.

It's amazing what people expect at this price point. There are DAPs that cost 5 times as much that don't have these options. I backed the AP80 to replace my ageing plenue d. I am excited for what I'm getting at this price. November can't get here soon enough.
Couldn't have said it any better. Thanks

This is great to know thanks!
I might have missed it but can somebody point me to the link where there is a comparo between the ap80 and the r3.

Thanks.
I don't have the link at the moment, but Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews has a comparison between the two on his youtube channel, not watched it myself either yet but looking forward to it!

there's a bit of a rant at the end that hasn't much to do with the topic but the first part gives you some ideas of the differences
