I have a question for you k702 anniversary owners: is it possible to remove the grill that covers the driver? So that's the grill with the blue ring attached to it.

I've tried to twist it off, but I couldn't get it off. And I don't want to force anything.

I've been using tape to get it off and on.

Thanks, I tried that. But the right side seems glued on or something. The left side comes off pretty easily.
Try two needles or safety pins on opposite corners turning counter clock wise.

Tried that and damaged the grill slightly. It's that tight. I think if I would turn harder, I would actually break the grill 0.o
Probably best to ask the person whom I bought them from, if they are actually glued

Question from a prospective owner here:

Is an Aune T1 a good amp for these headphones? Or is there a better DAC/amp I can buy for them under $200?

I haven't used that amp, but I certainly enjoy it on the O2. And that is priced well under 200.
FYI, I've also bought the corda quikstep, because that should've been a Big improvement over the O2. It costs three times as much, yet it doesn't sound better.

I don't think you'll find a solid state amp, even remotely in the price range of the O2, that is actually better. You'll get a different flavor of sound, yes.

I am really digging this setup as you might've noticed. Do you know when people on headfi say they are rediscovering their music collection? Well it's happening to me finally. Yet this never happened with the HD650 or HE400 and not even on my mackie studio monitors. I'm even enjoying songs I didn't particularly enjoy on other systems! Yeah I think the O2 is all you really need tbh.

As between the K712 and Annies, which scores higher in terms of clarity and transparency?

They're pretty much the same in that regard.

AKG won't say it but both headphones are probably almost 100% identical...
