Can someone who has tried German Maestro GMP 8.35 D comment on whether the k550 is better to their ears or the 8.35D?

Interesting, the GMP are still some what of an underdog... after all these reviews I doubt that the K550 has anything to offer except their great looks. (Peaky Treble, recessed mids)
it could be a matter of preference, but to me K240 never came even close to K701 in terms of sound quality. i ended up selling k701 in favor of hd600 only because senns are more versatile (and more bassy as well)

Absolute pants i'm sorry.
Please try the k550 first. Treble is as flat as your gonna get. No rollof, no peak. Mids are beautiful - not recessed like the denons and not aggressively forward. Only a lack of punch, energy and dynamics with quite thin notes may make this can sound a bit boringish to some.
The k550 smashes in sq many other closed headphones.
try some vintage K240 Sextetts (MP) or even better:
any of the older Sennheiser Flagships, HD580/600/650 and you will trash her like a used tissue.
Tried both the HD650 and 600, sold them and still own my K701.
Currently talking to an Australian store about trialing a pair of K550s. Hope my expectations aren't setting me up for disappointment.
I really want to buy the k550 but I am fearing it will be just another bass headphone.
