[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM

I received the RE0 sample from Fang @ Head-Direct today and I thought I'll share some pictures with all of you first before I finish the 50hrs burn-in. Review will come after that, probably by late Sunday or early Monday. Cheer. The IEM, various eartips, and the replacement filters...

This really IS bad for your wallet. o.O

Just today, I spent $25 on 2 cases, and a line out cable for my itouch. Also, my mom bought me M6’s. And hopefully, if the Pro Alpha deal lasts, I’ll be ordering those tomorrow, too. Did I mention I got my RE2’s YESTERDAY? /end rant about this never ending hole begging me to throw money into it

    IEM under $20

I am looking for in-ear earphones. Clarity is the main concern here, bass may not be the best. Maybe some deal or something that brings the price down to $20?

    What's Better Than R.E.O?

I recently owned the R.E.O., and absolutely loved them in the sub 100, and even 200 category.  The problem I had with them is two-fold:  Microphonics, and more importantly build quality- they crapped out after a year of use.  I loved their balanced, detailed sound.  I have since purchased the...

    [Pictorial Review] Head-Direct's RE2

I just received the Head-direct's RE2 which Fang sent to me for review. Although the RE2 is still in the process of burning, I thought I shared some photo shots with y'all first. A full review will be posted once I got at least 50 hours on RE2. Stay tuned. A present from China on April...

Recommendations wanted: Upgrading from A900 at same price range?

Long time fan; came here 6 years ago and left with a pair of ATHA900.  And I have loved them ever since (thanks head-fi!)   I would like to try something new.  I own both the A900's and a pair of head-direct RE-2's.  I'm looking to spend less than $200 and purchase new from a site like...

Any suggestions for IEMs with a microphone? handsfree+ music listening from phone

Hi, guys (and gals)!   I need a pair of doable IEMs for use with my HTC Desire. I lost my old ones, so lately I've been using the OEM Iphone-buds, which have a microphone that i've grown fond of. Comfort and sound are terrible, so they need to be replaced. I've previously had a pair of...

    In Ear Earphone dilemma

I'm looking to spend £25 on a pair of In ear Headphones.   Requirements: Warm, deep bass- this is really important :) Good looking- i.e. not sticking-out monstrosities.. Built to last (i.e. for use at the gym)   I'd love some recommendations.

Head Direct RE2 and RE0 have the same drivers.

Sigh, after having my RE2s for 3 days, the casing split, but hot glue fixed it, compared the driver to my RE0's and they look identical, the only difference is that the ports on the back of the RE2 driver are taped shut, while the ports on the RE0 are open.

How Many Backup IEM's do you guys have that you use regularly?

I like having a stock of headphones I can use for the times i want music, but don't want to ruin my good sets (ie Marshmellows for working out, or cutting the grass, KSC75 for over the head duty), but more often than not I find that I am using my backups, while other sets of headphones go...

Wanna try something new out for xmas. Klipsch iems?

I figured Id try something new out for xmas. I am interested in an iem, 150$ is the absolute max, the cheaper the better obviously.   I will be using them with my macbook pro or iphone as a source. Listening to mostly electronic/techno, classic rock, and some rap. I am a basshead, so I...

    I hate Christmas shopping

Every year my friend and I exchange presents for Christmas (i'm sure a lot of you also share this dilemna). This year we agreed on a $30 price limit and since he's into music i have decided to get him a new pair of iems. I've narrowed it down to head direct re2s and soundmagic pl30s, both of...

Want new IEMS for xmas. Klipsch?

I want to get iems for xmas.  150$ is the absolute most, however the less, the better. Listen to techno, rock, rap, etc. Source: Macbook pro or iphone, fiio e5 as needed.   I love my denon d5000s, and my re-2's are decent.  I hated addiems, sounded very bland and nothing special about...

    Looking for phones @~$70

So yeah, basically I am a noob searching for new phones (I'm open for both headphone/IEM recommendations) for my Sansa Fuze (no amp). From what I've heard, a-JAYS Two and Head-Direct RE-2 are quite nice and go well with my player. Any other ideas?   The music would be mostly Metal...

    RE2 tips

Hi all,   I lost one of my favourite tips for Hifiman RE2's: bi-flanges. I am in Canada so buying replacements from head-direct will cost 30 bucks. I was wondering if anyone knows another tip, easily available and cheap. And bi-flanges...   thanks

These RE2s sound awful! Will they improve with burn-in? EDIT: Turns out I was wearing them wrong

EDIT: Quote: Original post: Normally I don't really believe in burn-in but I'm just praying that it exists because these RE2s are just simply not acceptable in their out-of-the-box state. I bought them for a friend and am trying them, and out of the box they sounded tinny and awful...

    Brainwavz M1, Pro Alpha (ViSong R02), or Head-direct RE2. All $30. Suggestions?

Hey guys, many hours spent researching all your insightful posts, and first time posting my self.  I'm finally ready to buy my first pair of IEM's and was hoping to make the right decision and get the best sounding, best valued product. I am looking for the next step up from KSC75.

I have a pair of Koss KSC75 I wear at work, but I want to move up a little. I listen to Internet radio (such as Metric, Kings of Leon, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, etc.) from a MacBook Pro. I am looking at NE-6M and RE2, but wanted to see if there are others I am missing out on. Price needs to be...

    Big bi / tri flanges

Is there any place besides Head-Direct (who charges 25 for 4 after shipping, really quite ridiculous) selling the oversized bi flanges that come with the RE2/RE0? How about tri flanges of similar size? Ebay tri flanges are much too small for my ears and standard bi flanges work, but don't...

    Headphone for Metal/Rock

Hello, I'm gonna change my mp3 and my headphone. I used Sony NW-A1200 with RE2/Fiio, i like the sound but i feel a lack of "energy" and bass.   I'll buy a Sansa Fuze and i don't know what headphone i should choose. It's for listen to MP3 with a bitrate 192k/bits at least.   I"ll...
