Sigh, after having my RE2s for 3 days, the casing split, but hot glue fixed it, compared the driver to my RE0's and they look identical, the only difference is that the ports on the back of the RE2 driver are taped shut, while the ports on the RE0 are open.

They all look the same since they are all made by the same company. You can't tell the sound of a transducer by looking at it! They don't even have the same spec.

hmm, interesting. are there markings on either driver? reminds me of the whole hd555/hd595 discrepency

Even if they look the same doesnt meaning that they are the same. The RE0 must have been tuned differently or have other components in it that the RE2 doesnt. It sounds totally different and have different specs altogether. No amount of modding of the RE2 would make it have the same detail and treble as the RE0 IMO.
