Audiosense AQ7 - vocals first
Pros: Forward, smooth and detailed mids, tight and deep bass with lightning fast decay, smooth and detailed treble without sounding peaky and rough, soundstage with good width and height, black background with precise imaging, good isolation and comfort, build and quality packaging
Cons: dip in the upper bass that is reducing the overall density to the lower voices , treble can come out as tame for some, not a bass monster that many people expected from 3 woofers per side setup

Before purchasing the AQ7 i expected the so called "fun" tuning similar to the T800.
I was like - "ok you have Moondrop Blessing 2 that is overall neutral get the Aq7 for fun".
Now i am not a big fan of V shaped response, i like U shaped but overly boosted treble and bass i don't.
For that reason i had a little chat with Audiosense rep about the tuning and they told me that the prototype was more of a fun sounding but after consultation with reviewers they decided to add a bit more mids.
More mids are always welcome in my book if done right, without sounding sharp like some budged hybrids , also i was hopping that the treble is not peaky like in T800.

Packaging
Eg0uxHnVgAASncG.jpg

The packaging is very good but i don't care to be honest, for those who care they have 3 pairs of silicone tips that look like spinfit, 3 pairs that look like Sony hybrid tips, 3 pairs of silicone tips that came with T800 and 3 pairs foam tips that i never use
also massive hard case, cleaning tool, soft bag and 8 core copper cable, the cable is very nice, soft and light but i use them balanced with aftermarket cable

Build, fit and comfort
Very solid build quality, filled resin shell with stainless steel nozzle, the fit is very good for me, they are smaller than T800, the comfort is also very good and i can use them for long sessions without problems

isolation
the isolation is good but less than advertised 30db

Overall tonality.
The overall FR shape is with boosted sub bass (about 8-9db under 80hz), dip in the upper bass/lower mids area that is not large but noticeable, rise in the center core of the midrange plus upper mids, the treble sound very neutral to my ears

Bass
Bass response sound boosted in the very low bass, mid bass has small to no elevation to my ears and with music that has no sub bass it sounds like it is flat. The upper bass sound like it is dipped a bit but not much, they give the feeling of slightly reduced thickness there. For example Eric Clapton Unplugged was one of the first albums that i tried and was like reference type of bass, flat and tonally correct with proper timber of the instruments. When i started to listen some electronic tracks the sub bass came out strong but isolated in the very low octave. For that reason on some songs they are neutral in the bass on other boosted, depending on the recording if it is with sub bass or not. That is a different approach compared to the T800 that have more bass overall, sub and mid bass. What is really impressive in the AQ7 bass is not the quantity but the quality.
They use the same BA woofers like in T800 plus DD but the bass is much faster and snappier, however is not sounding like it is overdamped or with compressed dynamics, the dynamic range is there and rumbles hard when the song calls for it. I think the reason why they have powerful sub bass and such amazing control is because they use 3 woofers. If you have 3 woofers for the same SPL instead of one they will move much less, that will lead to shorter recovery time and therefor better control at the end. Sharing the load will lead to lower THD as well. The bass is very well textured and with proper timber of the instruments there.
Overall great bass quality with sub bass focus and slight dip in the upper bass.

Mids
The whole midrange sound like it is boosted except the very low mids. The rise starts at around 700-800hz and it is lifted over wide range after that, it sounds different compared to harman or DF target tuned earphones, it is fuller and more organic but because of the dip in the upper bass it is not thick, probably intentional tuning that works great. Male vocals sound clean and with good timber but the density in the deeper voices is reduced a bit. The biggest surprise for me was the reproduction of female vocals like Norah Jones for example - forward, creamy and addictive. It is very resolving and detailed with a light feeling and great separation. Midrange is smooth but detailed without sounding sharp, for some they can lack a bit of bite in the upper mids. Overall a welcome difference from DF or Harman tuned mids that have more narrow pina gain and can sound a bit thin there.

Treble
Highs are the most neutral sounding part of the whole FR.
Treble sound sweet with good timber but it is just there.
Extension is about average, they don't have a lot of air but the tone is very clean and natural, some sparkle in the upper treble is present but it is not large.
Sometimes you can get a bit thin sounding treble from BAs, a bit rough sounding but with AQ7 that is not the case, tuned for smoothness but i can see some people wanting more extension and energy in the upper treble.

Soundstage and imaging.
Soundstage have good width but is not the widest, the height is very good, dept is average.
Imaging is very good, the background is very dark so the instruments pop clearly from the black background.

Detail retrieval
Great details from top to bottom but in a smooth delivery, resolving without even trying hard.
With bad recording because of the overall smooth sound they never sound rough, you just gonna notice that the recording is bad.

Compared to Blessing 2
IMG_20200917_165540.jpg

Blessing 2 have less sub bass, similar mid bass, AQ7 is with sharper attack and shorter decay, AQ7 have better texture in the mid bass, it sounds cleaner there.
Lower mids sound similar, center midrange at around 1k is more on AQ7, B2 sound like the upper mids are more. The overall midrange tonality is fuller and smoother on AQ7 and sharper and cleaner on Blessing 2.
B2 have more treble and air because of the rise after 15khz but AQ7 have better timber in the treble, it has sweeter tone but it is less compared to the B2.
B2 have wider stage but the AQ7 is taller, the imaging is very similar between the two.

Conclusion
I love the overall smooth sound, amazing bass and forward mids, high rating in my book same as the Blessing 2.

have a good one

My favorite earphone for critical listening is Etymotic ER4S, i like the tonality and especially the treble is my favorite part, it is clean and upper treble dominant signature. One BA has limitations, mainly the dynamic range is the biggest weak point for me, the contrast there is small so at the end no matter the detail retrieval and tonal balance, they can be boring and compressed sounding.
It was time for upgrade, something that will eliminate the weak points of ER4S.
After i saw the graph of Blessing 2 i made a purchase in mid January from the official Moondrop store on ali, that was the time when the outbreak was gaining momentum in China. After one month waiting to be shipped they told me that it is better to cancel my order, they had no idea when they gonna have stock or be able to send the earphones.
I decided to search for other solutions until i saw Crin first impressions and measurements. This time i made a purchase from Shenzhenaudio Store and they came after 5 days.

Build, fit and comfort

The build is good, they have clean look, not to flashy, filled resin with metal face plate, i think they will look better without that plate, S8 type of design.
Fit is good but not great, they are big but the shape is ergonomic, comfort is great the first 3-4 hours, after that i have to take a break, i have average sized ears. I use them with balanced aftermarket cable and Blon BL03 tips (the longer spin fit looking tips)

isolation
Very good, probably around 25db

Overall tonality.
They are fairly neutral with some coloration, small boost in the sub bass (around 5db at 20hz) upper mids and treble are a bit forward.

Bass
On most music the bass sound flat, like there is no boost, with jazz, rock, classical. With music that has deep sub bass it sound like it is a bit boosted.
Only sub bass emphasis so there is no bleeding into the midrange, is not warm sounding bass and there is no thickness. The biggest boost of 5db is at 20hz, it starts to fall after that and at 100hz is only 2.5db, that makes the bass clean at all times without roll of at all. The dd woofer is speedy so there is no bloat or smearing on complex tracks, there is not a lot of impact, i can see some people used to bassy earphones to find the bass not enough. Coming from ER4S for me the bass is plenty and of high quality. Bass texture is great in the sub bass, when they go very low it is easy to hear the layers there, combined with the speed it is very impressive. Mid bass is not so well textured compared to the sub bass, it still has texture but the dynamic driver performs better in terms of bass detail in the low bass. Overall almost perfect bass response.

Midrange
The tonality is neutral in the low mids with a rise in the upper part, the rise is not large so they manage to sound smooth and forward at the same time.
Pinna compensation is even with the right shape of the response so there is no hot spots in the upper mids, just stronger female vocals as a result.
I find the mids to be addictive, they are not only smooth and musical but very detailed, you can hear the smallest nuances from high quality recording in a effortless way without trying to cheat with overemphasized spots. As a result the vocals are very realistic and life like and the instruments in that area are present a bit forward with clean and precise tone. Overall amazing sounding mids that are their strongest point.

Treble
Highs are very clean but a bit colored, the tone of the treble is a bit cold and "analytical".
Lower treble 6-8k sound a bit forward, also in the upper treble it rises after 14-15k.
On one hand they have a lot of air and details but on other hand the tone is a bit thin, like there is not a lot of fullness to the notes in that area.
If you look at crin graph of B2 you can see that there is a depression in the treble after 8khz to about 15 and then it starts to rise, probably that is the reason. However the treble is still close to natural tone just not ideal, overall very good but like the bass response is one step behind from being great.

Soundstage and imaging.
The stage size is very good, wide and tall, the dept is good with electronic music without vocals, dept collapses a bit once the midrange is fully present in the recording.
The imaging is excellent, precise and specific with easy to hear positions.

Detail retrieval
Very detailed overall, only the mid bass layering is one step behind compared to the sub bass. They are very reviling so listening to bad mastered recordings is not recommended from me, you will hear the flaws from the recording and can be rough sounding as a result.

Compared to Etymotic ER4S
IMG_20200710_174609.jpg

Blessing 2 have more and better textured bass, higher dynamic range, tone of the mids is similar but the B2 sound a bit more effortless and sweet, B2 has more lower treble, ER4S sound like the upper treble (11-14k) is more but B2 has more air (probably because of the rise after 15k).
Soundstage is a lot larger on B2 and imaging is improved as well.
ER4S sound smoother and calmer, smaller also with weaker dynamics.
Detail retrieval is close between the two, i will give the edge to B2 because of the larger stage and better dynamics, that makes the smallest nuances more distinct.

Conclusion

High value for the money, only the comfort for longer than 4 hours is the problem, other than that they are almost perfect for me.

If you like clean sound with minimal coloration that is pleasant, they are for you.
If you like music with real instruments and vocals, they are for you.
If you like highly detailed sound that digs deep into the recording, they are for you.

If you have small ears they are probably not for you.
If you like EDM with massive bass response, they are not for you.
If you listen to compressed modern music with bad mastering, they are not for you.
If you are very sensitive to treble, they are not for you.

FastAndClean- love the review. I too find the Etymotic ER4P/S one of my go to IEMs - especially when reviewing amps and DACs- I use them all the time with music for hours, but they help imediately in finding flaws in wire or ground/hiss noise so I can eleimiate anything into the black background as it should be. I use the HD600 a lot as well for music with hybrid lamb skin/velor square top pads- I listen to similar music as you and wanted to thank you for providing a playlist - I just discovered Jacinthia b/c of that- so thank you! I just got Penon Orbs and breaking them in for a day or to. So far I'm liking what I hear from ORBS. I appreciate your review - thanks. I should mention I will be getting the Kennerton Magni closed back and the Gjallarhorn coming in from Russia Saint Petersburg. My question to you - did you keep the Blessing 2?
FastAndClean
FastAndClean
Hi John, yes i am keeping the Blessing 2, i still use the ER4S from time to time and you are right, they are very reviling and you can get a good idea about the mastering of different recordings from them, they are like a tool but still enjoyable for me especially with female vocals. The Blessing 2 is resolving like ER4S just a bit more musical and spacious, all in all they both have a place in my humble collection.

Pros: lots of quality sub bass, smooth creamy mids, gentle but very detailed treble, wide and tall soundstage, precise and holographic imaging
Cons: some QC issues reported, very tip dependent (dark with narrow bore) the nozzle is fat so some tips are hard to put in place, very large sub bass (no con for me though)

How can you not love it, it is like chocolate with peanut butter, one piece is not enough, you need more and more. It is easy to become sub bass addict. If done right nothing can wow you more in a song or movie.
There are many earphones with large sub bass, here we have something different. Was skeptical for this earphone, i saw the graph on their store and it was kind of weird, so decided to skip them.
Couple of days later Bui Hai Anh wrote some impressions for them, he said - "around 5db more sub bass than Blon BL03". I was like hm, BL03 is already boosted there. 5db more?
When i see - more and sub bass, that is getting my attention like a kid in a candy store.
I wrote him a PM to ask how is the bass control because often if you have large emphasis in the bass region the driver can be under damped, he told me that the bass has good control and the overall sound is silky smooth.
That was enough for me, purchased them on black Friday sale for 39$.

Build, fit and comfort
The build is kind of a mixed bag, i have no problems with my pair, but some other people have problems with one of the mmcx connectors on the earphone, refusing to clamp on the cable connector, so keep that in mind.
The earphone body is build great, it is a steel body, looks very sturdy and beautiful.
The nozzle is large, some normal bore tips are hard to put in place, it has a fat nozzle, wide bore tips fit fine and are recommended from me for best results in the sound also. The stock tips are fine but they are hard to put on the nozzle, they are a bit stiff, i tried modded KZ tips and the sound was with a little bit less impact, but they are slipping out of my ears so i had to change them to normal bore white silicone tips (i am not sure from what earphone i have them) . The comfort is very good, they are very small and nicely shaped to sit in your ears. The stock cable is fine, it looks nice and it is not stiff, i use them balanced with aftermarket cable though.

Isolation
A bit better than the BL03, they go a bit deeper into the ear, but still not strong.

Overall tonality. (Later findings - see the Update section below)
U shaped.
The bass was fast out of the box with similar quantity to the Blon BL03. I was like - "hm, Bui said 5 db more sub bass, i don't hear it, where is it.
I continued to listen and after a couple of hours they began to change - the sub bass was hitting like a truck full of bricks.
Now, i have sub bass heavy earphones, Moondop Kanas, but UF is taking the same approach but a bit more extreme.

Bass
That is a basshead earphone, no other way around it. It is with sub bass focus, have some mid bass boost but it is under the sub bass by good amount, the lower you get in FR, it gives you more quantity. The sub bass is very large, you can hear rumble from strings on acoustic guitar if there is any, it will rumble vicious when the song calls for it.
They have very unusual dark, heavy bombastic sub bass tone. I don't know how to explain it.
Sub bass is large but it is not sloppy, despite the emphasis it has excellent control, stopping on time to stay clean.
Bass texture is amazing for that price, the overall bass quality is great, there is just a lot of sub bass.

Mids
The midrange is warm and creamy, it has lush tone to it, very smooth and inoffensive. It is getting some warmth from the bass but the overall full and lush tone is coming from a dip in the upper mids. It has similar tone to Audeze full size planars, LCD2 and 3, full and smooth but is missing information after 1.5 - 2khz somewhere.
Quality of the mids is high, despite the warmth they have high amount of details, lot of texture to the voices and instruments. For me the midrange is very beautiful but it has a dark tone to it, will like a bit more upper mids.

Treble
EDIT - new findings about the treble response with wide bore tips.
with wide bore tips (wider than the stock) the treble and upper mids are a lot more so the overall tonality is changed, they don't have that dark and heavy tonality from the narrow bore tips, so keep that in mind
i had to edit the review after i found and tried wide bore tips that are not slipping out of my ears like the modded KZ tips i tried at the beginning

The treble is with similar quantity to the mid and lower midrange area. The dip in the upper mids is continuing into the lower treble, after that it recovers at around 10khz, that is the most noticeable part of the treble but in overall quantity is not a lot at all, for many people will not be enough. The extension is average, they go to around 12khz.
Treble quality is high for that price, it is very quick treble, fine and airy, delicate with good amount of details and air, it is just not a lot of it.

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage is wide and very tall, kind of unusual for me, the dept is not very good, the size is large but on the sides. Because it is so tall you can hear sounds coming under and above your head, i never heard such a soundstage in a earphone. The imaging because of the very dark background is excellent, it is easy to hear the positioning of the instruments and the driver is quick so there is no smearing with more complex tracks.

Performance with movies
That is the closest feeling you can get to 2.1 speaker system from a earphone. The sub bass impact is rapid and violent, it is quite an experience to watch something like - Godzilla king of the monsters with that earphone.

Comparisons

With Blon BL03
IMG_20191222_155105.jpg

Bass
UF has more sub bass, similar mid bass, UF has faster attack and decay, the texture is a bit better on UF

Mids
BL03 has more upper mids, the mids are more open sounding, more natural and neutral than the UF
UF is warmer, lusher and it has more details despite the better tonality in the BL03

Treble
BL03 has more treble in 8khz range, UF at around 10khz, Blon has overall more treble (keep in mind that i have the "cleaner" version), UF treble is more gentle but airy and clean at the same time, it is just under the Blon in quantity

Soundstage and imaging
Blon has more dept, similar width but UF is taller
the imaging is better on UF because of the blacker background

Overall the UF is more resolving, more detailed but darker and heavier in the sub bass.

with Moondrop Kanas

Bass
UF has a little bit more sub bass, a bit less mid bass, UF has better control, the bass is faster, the texture is similar, Kanas is slower but the bass is well textured, UF has better dynamics

Mids
Midrange sound very similar between the two, UF is a bit darker in the mids, a bit less midrange energy overall, Kanas have more present mids in the 1-2khz area but it dips similar to the UF in the upper mids
UF has a bit more detail in the mids, it is very unusual to have dark mids that have so much detail

Treble
Kanas have more air, it has a peak in the upper treble - around 14khz, in UF is lower, around 10-11khz, so the overall treble quantity is close but the tone is a bit different, treble quality is on par between the two, it is nice and clean treble but not a lot of it

Soundstage and imaging
UF has larger stage and better imaging, KP is nothing special

Overall UF is a bit darker with better controlled but more sub bass, better details in the mids, larger soundstage with better positioning.

with SEMKARCH CNT1

Bass
UF has more sub bass, same mid bass, the control is very good on both, CNT1 is also tight and very well controlled
bass texture is better on UF

Mids
tone of the mids is similar but the UF is a bit warmer and darker, a bit more detailed but dark

Treble
CNT1 has more treble but is grainy compared to UF, UF is smooth, clean without any roughness or grain, it sound more refined in the treble but it is less in quantity

Soundstage and imaging
UF has wider and taller stage, the dept is on par, imaging is a bit better on UF

Overall UF is more detailed across the board but darker and with more sub bass.

Conclusion
The sound is unique and i love it, it is the best earphone that i have for Drum and bass and movies
Unfortunately mmcx connectors have some issues, so getting them is a bit risky, i got lucky with my two pairs but others are not that lucky so be aware of that.

If you like more transparent uncolored sound they are not for you.
If you get fatigue from a lot of low end they are not for you.
If you are looking for strong isolation from the outside noise they are not for you.
If you like bright signature with forward upper mids they are not for you.

If you like dark and smooth signature with lots of bottom end they are for you.
If you are a basshead that loves large amounts of sub bass with good quality they are for you.
If you watch movies all the time on your tablet and want immersive experience with earphones they are for you.
If you listen to mostly electronic types of music they are for you.

Have a good one

Hmmm with that, would you say the Tin T2 are somwhat similar to the E1000. I just looked at both their frequency graphs and they look roughly identical. Reason I am asking is because I would rather avoid the E1000 due to the cables not being detachable. I don't know why but I just enjoy customizing my IEMs with aftermarket cables

Pros: snappy bass response, once corrected with EQ it is very powerful and deep with great control, good isolation, non fatiguing treble, warm midrange, good imaging
Cons: stock cable needs replacement, midrange lack dynamic range, the treble is good but is a bit grainy sounding, the sub bass is lower in level compared to the mid bass, needs EQ to really shine

My first headphone was the Sennheiser HD598, i was using speakers before that with subwoofers, two units, each for every channel. I was enjoying the HD598 for vocals.
I needed something similar to my speaker setup because i was living in apartment at that time and there was some complains from the neighbors about the bass traveling through the walls.
I was reading in the basshead thread and there was one recommendation that i was able to find for good price at that time - M Audio Studiophile Q40.
The requirement for that headphone to have powerful bass and good comfort at the same time was simple, just change the pads and ad bass EQ, as much as you want.
When i got the CNT1 the first impression was not positive, so i changed the black filter with the gold one and let them play. To my surprise after a couple of hours the first thing that i though was - "that is Q40 in IEM form"

Build, fit and comfort

They are made from metal, the build is solid but some reports of bad QC units exist.
it was hard for me to get a good fit with the stock tips, the gray tips from one of my Blon BL03 units did the job just fine
the cable is stiff and unusable for me, i use 16 core balanced cable

Isolation
the isolation is very good, surprising and unexpected

Overall sound signature.
they sound like a U shaped to me, but the dip in the mids is in the upper part

the bass part i will give impressions without and with EQ

Bass
(without EQ)
The bass stock without corrections is mid bass boosted, the sub bass is there but lower in level compared to the mid bass. The bass after burn in have impressive control and speed, on my source it is very tight and quick, the driver is very well damped but is not suffering from bad dynamic range, it has good dynamics but is a bit lacking in the sub bass department (similar to the Q40 uncorrected). I was very curious if it will retain the control and dynamics when EQd.

(with EQ correction)
Screenshot (351).png

That is basically my EQ correction, lowering the mid bass and boosting the sub bass.
With that the sub bass is significantly more and lowering the mid bass gives the bass tonality much cleaner profile.
The bass impact is dramatic and very dynamic, it jumps at you with the right song retaining the amazing control and tightness, with high volume listening with heavy music like Doom metal the kick drums are snappy and punchy, the rumble is quick and powerful with very good texture. Overall the bass is amazing to me, very enjoyable and fun.

Mids
The midrange is one step back in the whole signature but only the upper mids, mid and lower midrange is there so the tonality is somewhat warm and full but not overly so. For vocal music they are good but not very good.
The midrange sound like is a little bit constricted, the dynamic range is not very good in that area and is not very open. The tonality is very good but is a bit compressed sounding. They are not my choice for Amber Rubarth.

Treble
The treble response have some sparkle in the mid treble, before that there is a dip, after the mid treble is starting to roll of.The extension is average, the detail retrieval is good but the tonality of the treble is with a bit of grain to it.
The treble is not particularly smooth, they are not harsh or sibilant but the tone has a bit of sizzle.
Not the most refined treble but it is good overall.

Soundstage and imaging.
the soundstage size is average, nothing special here, the imaging i find to be very good, it has good positioning and the drivers are able to keep everything under control even on high volume listening

Conclusion
Bass is the reason why i like them so much, that is the reason for the high rating
For critical listening they are not my first choice but for electronic music they are
for the original price of 95$ they are good, for under 50$ i will recommend them for sure
especially if you like to play with EQ a bit and enjoy snappy powerful bass response

Have a good one.

FastAndClean

Previously known as presata
Pros: Deep, fast and very detailed bass, clear tonally correct mids, natural treble without sibilance, very good soundstage and imaging, can compete with Moondrop Kanas Pro and it is 30$, the highest price to performance ratio I've ever heard
Cons: you need longer tips, you can change the cable too, isolation is avarage

Here's what I think happened.
Bunch of people gathered in a room and one of them told the others - "What if we take a high quality dynamic drivers similar to those in Moondrop Kanas Pro and Tanchjim Oxygen , put them in high quality metal body and sell the earphones for 30$?"
Silence in the room, deep breath, after that the boss said - " sure, why not, let's see what will happen"
That is how the Blon BL03 came out.
I bought two pairs after a saw some measurements and reviews, i was sure that i am gonna like them. Was right, after i heard the first pair made a purchase for one more, it was hard to believe at first, was expecting good sound for the price of 30$, not a similar sound quality compared to Moondrop Kanas Pro.
To get the best performance from them you need aftermarket eartips (longer than the stock, nothing fancy) and i use soft aftermarket balanced cable.

Build, fit and comfort
The build is great, fit and comfort great with aftermarket tips
IMG_20190903_105825.jpg

Isolation
The isolation is average at best, the fit is not very deep and they are vented

Overall sound signature.
Blon BL03 is L shaped, sub bass focus with neutral mids and treble.

Bass
High quality bass, not only for the price but in general.
The shape, as it should be - rise in the sub bass, mid and upper bass with small boost lower in level compared to the sub bass. I find that type of tuning the most natural, you get impact without bleeding into the mids, no boominess. The bass impact is visceral but not very big, it is over the neutral DF target but is not a bass head in ear. Detail retrieval is very high for the price, excellent bass texture, it moves between the notes in a effortless way. Control of the bass is also very good, never bloated, without loosing control no matter the volume level, it is always tight and clean bass, amazing with high quality recordings with real instruments.
I am trying all my in ears with sub bass boost every time, to see if they can be fun sounding for electronic music and doom metal (i like a lot of bass for those types of music), BL03 does not disappoint, with about 5db boost under 60hz the bass is significantly more, retaining the texture and control, carbon drivers respond very well to bass EQ.
Overall great bass response, very well controlled, deep and textured.

Mids
Midrange sound very even and open, tonally correct. No recession, no big narrow spikes or wide overemphasis anywhere. It is not completely free of coloration, it has a bit of warmth from the mid and upper bass, but is not a lot, also in the upper mids it sound very open and lively, no depression there to my ears.
Male vocals sound realistic and clean, female vocals sound a touch more open and dynamic compared to male vocals. Instruments in that area are clean with good amount of body, never thin or overly thick, just the right tonality with full and clear at the same time performance. Overall impressive midrange performing great with every type of music.

Treble
The treble have a neutral tone. The extension is slightly better than average, they go up to about 12-13khz. The best thing for me is that the treble is not overly forward and sibilant. It is a very rare thing those days to have neutral sounding treble coming from China. The timber is realistic and clean, they have some sparkle but it is just there without drawing too much attention. Good amount of air and micro details. Detail retrieval is very high for the price avoiding harshness and sibilance even with high volume. Overall not the most extended treble but with natural clean tone.

Soundstage and imaging.
Soundstage size is above average, there is no dominating side, it sound like it is similar size in all directions.
Imaging is very good, it has good positioning, even on fast complex tracks is keeping the instruments well separated with easy to hear positions. The background is dark but not the blackest, some of my BA earphones have blacker background and the imaging is better, but for single DD with that price the imaging is very good.

Comparisons
Bl03 vs CNT1
IMG_20190910_192153.jpg

At first when i started to listen i was not very happy with the CNT1, i changed the black filter with the gold one and decided to give them time, after a couple of hours they sounded better to me, probably i was adjusting to the sound. Keep in mind that the CNT1 is at around 25 hours of playing.

Bass
BL03 has more sub bass, CNT1 more mid bass.
Blon have better texture and details, CNT1 is very punchy and tight but the texture is not as good.
CNT1 has sort of a rough, tight impactful punch, BL03 is more clean and effortless.

Mids
Blon have more open sounding mids, it is dynamic and very clean.
CNT1 has more laid back mids and they are not as open sounding

Treble
Blon have more realistic timber to the treble, CNT1 have sparkle but with a bit of a grain to it.

BL03 vs Kanas
IMG_0001 (6).JPG

Bass
Kanas have a little bit more bass overall, the tonality is very similar, sub bass focus with some mid bass emphasis but lower in level compared to the sub bass.
Blon have better speed and texture, Kanas is more dramatic sounding with longer decay.
The other thing is that Kanas with bass EQ can rattle your skull , it is very wide and huge bass when you EQ them, the Blon can have big impact with a boost but not at the same level as Kanas.

Mids
Blon have more open sounding mids, Kanas have warmer, lusher tone to them.
I like both types of tonality, Blon cleaner and more open with more upper mids, Kanas calmer and more euphoric.

Treble
Kanas have a sparkle in the upper treble, it sounds like it is high, over 12-13khz, that gives them more air and the treble to me sound very sweet and gentle. Before that peak it has depression somewhere, that makes the treble not very transparent but very enjoyable to me nevertheless.
Blon sound more tonally correct in the treble, the dipped area in Kanas is present on Blon, that makes the tone of the treble more realistic.

Conclusion
One of my all time favorites, i like them better than the CNT1, equal with Kanas.
For the price they are unbelievable.
Everything below 5 out of 5 rating is a crime against humanity.

Have a good one.

1DD : 10mm Biocellulose Diaphragm Driver
Durable CNC Metal Shell
Detachable MMCX Cable

I would like to thank Wendy for the review sample.
I4 was interesting to me because of the look and specs, was hoping for more coherent natural sound with the simple two driver setup.

package
6 pairs of silicone eartips, one pair foam, soft caring case, black cable
IMG_20190823_142606.jpg IMG_20190823_142745.jpg

Build, fit and comfort
excellent build, they are made from metal, the fit and comfort are great for me, they are small and the shape is very nice

Isolation
the isolation is about average

Overall sound signature.
mid bass bump, forward upper mids with neutral sounding treble

Bass
The bass have good extension with mid bass bump. The mid bass is over the sub bass by a couple of DBs.
It sound natural with real instruments like kick drums and bass guitars. The control of the bass is good but is not the quickest, is not bloated but on complex tracks with high volume it can get a bit blurry.
With EQ it can get into bass head territory, brutal without distortions, i like that, the dynamic driver inside is a powerhouse.
Overall good bass response, not the tightest but very good.

Mids
Lower mids sound natural, they are a tad dipped but the male vocals have good timber. Upper midrange is the problem area, is not only boosted but it has a edge to it. Female vocals are forward, that can be enjoyable for some people, but for me is not enjoyable at all. With well recorded music and normal volume levels is not a problem, but on higher volume level even with well recorded stuff it gets uncomfortable to me.
Overall midrange is the weakest point, edgy and hot with some songs.

Treble
The treble sounds like it is under the upper mids in quantity. The extension is average, it has natural tone and it is inoffensive. Nothing to complain here, good treble but nothing special.

Soundstage and imaging.
Soundstage size is average, is not closed in but is not very wide, the imaging is not very distinct, especially on fast and complex tracks it start to collapse a little bit.

TRI I4 VS Blon BL03
IMG_20190905_141536.jpg

Bass
Blon has sub bass focus, the lower bass is more than the mid bass, I4 is the opposite.
Blon have faster attack with better texture and faster decay also, with fast and complex tracks the Blon is not loosing composure, I4 struggles a bit with the bass control

Mids
Blon have more transparent mids, it sound tonally correct, I4 mids sound aggressive with thin tone to them compared to BL03

Treble
Blon have more natural sounding treble, the treble on I4 is good but the Blon is better here
The extension is a little bit better on the Blon as well

Soundstage and imaging
Blon have a little bit bigger stage, the imaging is more distinct on the Blon, it can separate the instruments better inside the soundstage and on fast tracks is keeping everything clean and composed

Conclusion
They are good for the price if you are not sensitive to upper mid energy.
I am unfortunately (thank you Jim) so for me they are not very good, i prefer the Blon by a large margin.

Have a good one.

Jim send me the NX7 for this review. When he asked me if i want to review them i was hesitant to reply, however Dsnuts was very impressed with them and he was the reason to say yes to Jim. This is the second review unit that i received from him, the first one was Smabat ST10, an excellent earbud that i use a lot, i like them very much and i enjoy reviewing things that i like, unfortunately with the NX7 that is not the case. I am sure that will be the last review unit from Jim, he is a cool guy and i like him but i am not a yes man.

Packaging

IMG_20190731_162357.jpg

Build, fit and comfort
I like the build, metal plate on a thick plastic body, they are small and the fit and comfort are excellent for me, one of the most comfortable earphones that i tried.
IMG_20190731_162514.jpg

Isolation
The isolation is good with a deep fit, better than Moondrop Kanas

Overall sound signature.
The bass sound neutral, mids and treble sound synthetic and uneven.

Bass
The bass goes low with fast and tight hits. There is no elevation to my ears. The instruments in the bass area like kick drums and bass guitars sound natural and clean. There is a depression in the upper bass department somewhere. No boomines or bloat. The texture is good but not great, Kanas have better texture, it is slower and less tight but has more details in the bass. Overall very good bass response with tight hits.

Mids
The tone of the mids is very unnatural, somewhat thin and aggressive with dips and peaks without even broad emphasis. Lower mids are recessed, after that in the upper mids it rises very quickly creating a shouty thin synthetic tone to them. The male vocals lack body and sound thin, female vocals are forward but thin and aggressive, very unpleasant and it is something that i experienced with other chi fi, Simgot EM1. However the EM1 had a strong upper mids but with more wide and even peak, so the mids had a lot of energy but a little bit more natural sounding than NX7. Overall low quality mids that are hard to tolerate, for me, they are a deal breaker but lets go to the treble response.

Treble
That is the worst part of that earphone, i don't know if all 4 BAs are reproducing treble but the whole treble response sound wrong. The treble has similar roller coaster of response to the mids, strong dips and peaks. Not only that, it sounds artificial with cymbals, thin unpleasant and unnatural tone. The timber of the cymbals is wrong.
The problem with such a treble response is that the fatigue is hiding into the shadows. When you have a boosted treble with wide and even emphasis you will know immediately - "hm, the treble is a lot, probably not very safe to listen for a long time or with high volume"
But if the treble has very sharp narrow peaks with strong depression before and after that it will take a while.
In my case i was listening and a strange feeling in my ears appear, it was uncomfortable feeling inside my ear canals, i took the earphones out and tried something dark and mellow, Kanas, it sounded bright to me and that is a dark earphone. When i get to bed that night i had ringing in my ears, it took two days to recover. That makes NX7 unusable for me.

Soundstage and imaging.
the soundstage is not wide, it is not congested but nothing special here, the imaging is confused and blurry

Detail retrieval
Despite the unnatural tonality they have good amount of details, the drivers are fast and they recover quick.

Comparison with CCA C16 (similar price)
IMG_20190803_195335.jpg

Bass
NX7 has better bass response, it goes deeper and the texture is slightly better, C16 is faster but a little bit dry, it lack natural decay.

Mids
C16 have a lot more even mids, it sound more correct and natural, it is not aggressive and fatiguing like NX7

Treble
C16 has a lot more even treble response, without strong peaks and dips, the extension is average but is not aggressive and it has more realistic tone

Soundstage and imaging
C16 is wider than NX7, the imaging is a little bit better on C16 but is nothing special

Overall - C16 is a lot better earphone

Conclusion
They are not for me, i get fatigued, all the praise for them is surprising but not unexpected.

Have a good one.

Build, fit and comfort
The build of the earphone is good, plastic but well put together, the cable has very tight connectors, i was loosing the sound from the right earpiece, also the ear-hooks are too tight for me and it was unpleasant to wear them with that cable
fit and comfort with aftermarket cable is very good, they are small and ergonomic

Isolation
is about average

Overall sound signature.
Kind of colored in a strange way, boosted mid bass with lower mid dip, forward upper midrange and lower to middle treble with roll of after that

Bass
Has a bump in the mid bass, sub bass is there but lower in level.
The bass notes can sound a little bit thick because of that but the control is good, it has tight hits but the decay is a little bit lingering after that.
The strange thing about the bass is that it sounds empty, is not visceral despite the good extension, on kick drums the bass lack that deep tight visceral hit compared to Moondrop Kanas for example.
A little bit blurred overall but tight at the same time, very strange bass response.

Mids
The midrange lack presence in the lower part, it has a wide dip there.
That makes the mids thin sounding with a lack of body, at the same time the upper midrange is boosted.
For that reason the contrast between lower and upper mids is larger and that makes the mid tone even worse.
Lack of body with aggressive upper mids.

Treble
The treble is boosted in the lower to middle part, if i have to guess i would say 7-8khz, after that it has another emphasis at around 10-11khz.
The treble sound like it is pointy and aggressive, it can really attack you with the wrong track.
Uneven sounding and thin, overall not very good.

Soundstage and imaging.
the soundstage has good width but the most impressive part is the dept, it is going deep into the track, the imaging is very good coming from all directions. Overall very impressive for the price.

Conclusion

not good

Pros: deep powerful bass response, lush organic midrange, gentle treble, excellent build and comfort, very relaxing to listen to, with bass heavy tracks it is fun, darkness done right
Cons: i don't like the stock cable, for some it will be dark, not for fans of highly detailed analytical sound

Ah the old love, you move on thinking that you are over it, but you are not.
Memories are starting to visit you about the good old days, it was simple back then, less earphones, one good dynamic driver that performs good and you are set. I was like that with my Kanas Pro, the BA sets started to take over my time and decided to sell them, the fun was out. I tried to play neutral head at that time, it didn't work out for me.
I was thinking - KP is very good yes but those BA s are so fast and clear sounding, i don't need the KP.
Wrong.
I want them back i was thinking, but i saw one review here for the regular Kanas, no fingerprint magnet, more bass and less treble - GIVE IT TO ME

I made a purchase from aliexpress, the price was 144$.

Build, fit and comfort
Solid heavy metal, excellent fit and comfort for me.
m80810374136_1.jpg

Isolation
the same as KP, good not great

Overall sound signature.
The Kanas is L shaped, with powerful bass response and neutral sounding mids and treble
Screenshot (339).png

Bass
The bass has a big boost, it sounds like it is about 8-9db over a neutral DF target, very dense and visceral.
It goes very low and it is very dramatic sounding, thick but not overdone, the biggest part of the boost is in the sub bass region. There is some mid bass emphasis but not as much. Dynamic and rumbly, extremely fun with movies and electronic music. Because of the mid bass emphasis the guitars on Doom metal tracks sound thick and deep, with a lot of body to them. If you are fan of Doom and Sludge metal you are in for a treat.
The control of the bass is not as good like in KP, the decay is longer, but is not bloated, the texture is very good.
Very organic visceral bass response, the main selling point for me.
If you want to get wild with bass EQ they eat it without problems, they can take your head off with bass EQ.

Mids
The mids are lush and warm, they are close to neutral but i think they have some small boost somewhere in the middle part of the mids. If the graph is correct it shows some small emphasis at around 1.3-2khz.
Midrange sound very smooth and organic, beautiful, musical type of mids, no upper midrange emphasis here.
The detail retrieval is very good but again the KP sound a little bit cleaner, less warm with more upper mids (or less lower mids). I love that type of tuning if a want to relax or crank up the volume and have some fun, no shout or bite here.

Treble
Treble is relaxed, have some sparkle in the upper treble but is just slight, like KP but lower in level.
When you ad to that big bass response and lush mids you have something similar to Final E5000.
Very gentle, good detail but is just there, for some people it will be dark.

Soundstage and imaging.
Soundstage is good but is not very big, KP has bigger soundstage because of the treble tuning and less bass.
The stage shape is like a sphere, the dept is not very good, more intimate type of stage.
The imaging is good but is not very distinct, the positioning is there but is not very clear like more technical earphone, Audiosense T800 for example has a lot bigger soundstage and better imaging but they have different tuning and T800 is all BA.

Conclusion
I love them very much, they are my warm and cozy in ear, also if i want to have fun with bass heavy music.

Jim asked me if i want to review the ST10, i saw some reviews praising the bass response.
That got me very curious because i have OURART ACG and the only weak point was the bass response. So i told Jim to send them in.

Packaging
4836d6b5.jpg

carrying case, mmcx cable, foam covers and some rubber covers

Build, fit and comfort
The build is very good, half plastic half metal build, they are very light but feel solid.
At the beginning i was not able to get a good fit over the ears but when i changed the cable with another one that has no hooks i was able to do it, over the ears and cable down also.
The comfort is great, they are very light and comfy.

Overall sound signature. (i am using them with full foam covers)
ST10 is neutral with a little bit of a bump in the upper mids.

Bass
On some reviews i was reading that the bass is boosted, for me the bass sound neutral in DF target with very good extension for earbud. It goes down to about 40hz and that is a very good result.
The bass is tight with excellent texture and details, reaching deep with fast hits, that makes them very enjoyable with bassy types of music like DNB and EDM. The bass is very articulate and clean, very unusual for earbud, most of them are trying to cheat with boosted mid and upper bass but not here.
ST10 can take bass boost without distortions retaining the bass control and texture, the driver inside is very capable.

Mids
The mids have some boost in the upper part, the lower midrange sound linear. Male vocals sound clean but not full, the female vocals are forward and clean sounding. I was worried that the midrange will be very aggressive on some bad recordings but it is not. Overall clean midrange performing better with female vocals.

Treble
The treble have some sparkle in the lower to middle treble but after that it rolls of, not a lot of upper treble here but is not harsh or overly bright. Overall clean and articulate treble without aggressive peaks but not the airiest out there.

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage has good width and dept, it is tall also so the shape of the whole soundstage is more like a sphere, the positioning is very good, the driver is very fast and there is no congestion even on complex tracks.

ST10 VS ACG
IMG_20190818_170609.jpg

Bass
ST10 has deeper bass response, ACG has more mid and upper bass but no sub bass at all.
ST10 sound more natural and it is better for modern recordings.
Also ST10 can take bass EQ if you want to have some fun, ACG cant, the driver on ACG is fragile.

Mids
ACG has fuller mids and more mids overall, ST10 sound thinner and a little bit in the back compared to ACG.

Treble
The treble quantity is similar, ACG sound smoother with a little bit more upper treble.

Soundstage and imaging.
ACG has similar stage size but the imaging is better and more distinct.

Conclusion
I like them very much for doom and DNB, for vocal music i prefer ACG.

Have a good one.

Can the st10 be pushed with proper power to a true basshead level subbass if you tape those vents, you know like sony 800st ?

That is my first review sample, thank you Alan.

Packaging
The packaging is very good, you get very good quality 6 pairs silicone eartips, braided black removable 2 pin cable, the box is nicely padded from the inside so everything is well protected.
IMG_20190523_163121.jpg IMG_20190523_163554.jpg IMG_20190523_163607.jpg IMG_20190523_163646.jpg IMG_20190523_163732.jpg

Build, fit and comfort
The build is solid, they are made from plastic but it is thick and durable, is not thin plastic body like the Massdrop Nuforce EDC3 for example. The nozzle is made from metal, another good point about their build.
The cable is good but i like to use aftermarket cables.
The comfort is very good for me, they are small and fit very well.
IMG_20190523_163800.jpg
They have two types of tips, 3 sets of wide bore tips and 3 sets of narrower bore.
The wide bore is for cleaner more open sound, narrow bore is for warmer sound with more bass.
I like the tips very much, they are soft and i use them with some of my other in ears.
tips+2.jpg tips+1.jpg

isolation
The isolation is good but they have a vent in the front, it is not strong but they block some noise.

Overall sound signature.
Mid bass boost with strong upper mid/lower treble area.

EDIT 09.06.2019 - today i tried them with small bore Sony mh1c tips and deep fit, the grain in the upper mids is gone and they are a lot better, the stock tips are holding them back
IMG_20190609_165409.jpg

Bass
Has a boost in the mid bass, is not a lot, probably 3-4db over DF flat line. The extension is good, they can go low but the mid bass is taking the lead here, sub bass takes a step back in the overall response. Bass control is very good, tight with good speed. Texture and details are not very good, lack of separation between the notes, the details are not easy to hear. Overall good bass response with tight hits but not a lot of texture and the sub bass is one step behind the mid bass.

Mids - with the stock tips
Are uneven sounding, kind of dry and not tonally correct. Recession in the lower mids, they sound like detached from the bass, there is no smooth transition from the bass to the midrange. Huge boost in the upper part, the mids lack body and sound very aggressive with some songs.Male vocals sound thin and the female sound very forward, no musicality, no lushness or body, dry and forward.
EDIT - with Sony tips
I found that with small bore eartips and deep fit (from Sony MH1C) the midrange is very improved, smoother and more musical, not so aggressive anymore.

Treble - with stock tips
The boost in the upper mids continue into the lower treble, at the same time they lack upper treble, the extension is poor. For that reason the treble has some grain to it, it sounds rough and unrefined. Lack of air and finesse. The treble is not aggressive like the upper mids but has some edge to it. Overall not very good treble for those reasons.
EDIT - with Sony tips
again, with Sony tips the treble is a lot smoother and the grain is gone, a lot more unoffensive treble response

Soundstage and imaging.
Soundstage has good width but is not very deep. The imaging is not very good, not very specific and with fast and complex tracks is getting a little bit cloudy. The instrument separation is average.

Conclusion
Good package, build and comfort, average sound with the stock tips, smoother pleasant sound with the Sony tips.
For the money they are good only if you use them with narrow bore eartips.

Recommendation to Simgot - Consider including narrow bore eartips instead of the wide bore "analytical" ones.

Have a good one.

I bough X6 from alixpress for 62$.
I had TRN V80, they had aggressive but pleasant sound with some types of music. I sold them and decided to try their new pure BA model.

Packaging
is the same like V80, 3 pairs of silicone tips and black cable.

Build, fit and comfort.
The build is solid, they are made from resin but the body is 90% empty, however they feel durable and well made.
The fit is very good, the shape is nice.
Comfort is great the first 3 hours, after that i feel some sort of discomfort, i think they are a little big for me.

Isolation
The isolation is very good but not great because of the empty body.

Overall sound signature.
Midrange focus with bass and treble one step behind.

Bass
The bass sound linear but under the mids in quantity. The bass is tight and fast but is not well textured and sound lifeless, it lacks dynamic range and it need EQ to show up, overall not very good.

Mids
The strong point of that earphone, the mids are forward, in the middle part of the mids they have the most energy (around 1khz), that makes the midrange non fatiguing, with a touch of lushness and musical sounding. I find the mids very good with vocal music and for TV shows and movies.

Treble
The treble is under the mids in quantity similar to the bass, the quality of the treble is not very good, it sound somewhat dry and papery, the articulation in the upper treble is not there. Lack of extension and precision. Not a very good treble overall.

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage is normal size, is not big, not small also, the imaging lack precision, i assume that treble tuning and the lack of upper treble have something to do with that.

Detail retrieval and transient response.
Detail in the mids is good, in the treble they lack detail, bass is tight and fast but it lacks texture and dynamic range.

Comparisons.
With Hisenior B5+
B5+ has more bass, the mids are even more forward and the treble is well extended and articulated. B5 sound warmer because of the bigger bass and more mids (especially lower mids), but at the same time the bass is more dynamic and natural sounding, despite the added warmth B5 is more detailed and natural. Treble on B5 is clean sounding and extended compared to X6 and in general. B5+ has all knowles drivers, X6 uses some generic Chinese drivers, probably that is one of the reasons why there is such a contrast in the performance between the two.
The soundstage on B5 is bigger also the imaging is very precise and well distinct, a lot better than X6.
There is no comparison here, the B5+ sound like a high end earphone compared to X6

With Massdrop Nu Force EDC3
IMG_20190518_161449.jpg

First time when i made a comparison i though that they play at the same level with some differences.
I was using the X6 with balanced 8 core silver plated cable and the EDC3 with the stock cable.
I put some good balanced cable on the EDC3 to remove any possible advantage of the X6.
With the balanced cable the EDC3 is way better than X6, with the stock cable the sound was veiled in the mids with hazy unrefined treble (the stock cable must be complete trash), but with the balanced cable the treble is very improved and the veil is lifted.
Overall EDC3 has similar tonality in the mids with better articulation and quality, also the bass is more and better on EDC3, better dynamic range and texture, the treble with the new cable has no haze anymore, very neutral and articulated.

With Etymotic ER4S . . .
Lets not go there, it will get ugly

Conclusion.

I like them for podcasts and TV shows, for music they are not my thing, i have a lot better earphones for music.
For the money they are not very good.

Have a good one.

Drive unit: 14.2 mm ultra-thin titanium crystal diaphragm dynamic driver
Frequency response range: 20~32000Hz
Sensitivity: 122dB
Impedance: 35 ohms
Interface: MMCX
Price - $59 from Penon

Last year i bought ACG from Penon, not a lot of impressions of the sound at that time. There was some impressions for the other model - TI7, very positive, in the description ACG is supposed to be less warm with improved resolution, that was the reason for my decision to go with the ACG.
I was not into earbuds before the purchase, however i needed something without isolation and the earbuds was the way to go.

Packaging
OURART-ACG-Titanium-Crystal-Diaphragm-Dynamic-Driver-MMCX-HiFi-Earbud.jpg

Box with glossy finish, MMCX cable with Mic and 3 buttons, 4 pairs of foam covers

Build, fit and comfort
Excellent metal build, they are small so the comfort is very high in my case, i don't feel them at all, they have some weight but not enough to make them uncomfortable.

Overall sound signature.
Midrange focus with excellent natural timber and precision in the treble.

Bass
Lows are the only week point of that earbud, they lack sub bass, mid and upper bass is there with very good quality, very delicate and natural sounding, a little bit light for modern music but for jazz and acoustic the bass is enough and the instruments sound full and natural. The bass has good control and the speed is excellent.
Tight and fast bass but with lack of sub bass.

Mids
That is the strongest point of that earbud, the mids have openness that can be found only in open back headphones. Midrange sound like is coming from a speaker without enclosure, very open and clean sounding with natural timber. It is a little bit forward but not much, vocals sound very different from in ear headphone, extremely open and realistic. The mids are not colored, they sound tonally correct with every type of vocals, male and female. The instruments in that range also sound natural with nothing jumping at you in the upper or lower mids.
Overall very transparent and high quality mids that are comparable with very good open back headphones (like HifiMan HE500)

Treble
Is extended, not dark but is not forward in the mix. Very delicate and gentle but is there and it has good overall resolution. The treble is very good but is not standing out like the midrange. Fast with very good details but for treble lovers the quantity will not be enough. I really like the treble tonality and how it stays there but is letting the mids to take the lead in the overall signature.

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage is wide and deep. It is different from in ear headphone, more natural and open, like there is noting behind the driver. The imaging is holographic and very 3D like, specific in every direction adding new layers compared to earphones. I would say they are very close to full size open headphones in that regard.

Detail retrieval and transient response.
Resolution is high, is not projected in a aggressive way, but if you listen enough time you will notice that they resolve a lot of detail without trying to smack you in the head with it. Transient response is very fast, from top to bottom, the driver must be very light and reacts that way, you will never experience congestion on busy and complex tracks, very quick and always keeping the separation of the instruments under control.

Conclusion.
I love that earbud and i am not the only one, they are so good that i have no urge to try other earbuds.
If you are not into bass heavy music, love vocals and music with real instruments, they are exceptional sounding earbuds.

Have a good one.

Nice write up. How do they compare to the Smabat ST-10 you have pictured?
FastAndClean
FastAndClean
ST10 has sub bass, midrange is fuller on ACG, also the treble is more extended on ACG, overall both are very good but ST10 has better bass response

FastAndClean

Previously known as presata
Pros: incredible amount of details, very fast transient response, high dynamic range, specific and accurate imaging, big soundstage, clean, tight and uncolored bass, forward high quality mids and treble, build and comfort, very nice packaging, high value
Cons: very bright out of the box , needs a lot of burn in, the bass is very neutral, will sound lean for some, treble is forward, if you are treble sensitive RUN, you will hear every flaw from your recordings, not good all rounders, will make some of your other in ears mushy sounding

I bough NICEHCK F3 with a discount from Jim from NICEHCK store.

I sold my Moondrop Kanas pro not long time ago. Not because i don't like them, i was ready for something new. Bought CCA C16 and that was the beginning of a new era for me. I started to listen my BA sets more, ER4S and CCA C16. One thing was standing out compared to dynamic driver in ears, the speed. It began to impress me more than before.
I purchased the F3 because it has planar magnetic driver inside and also the looks, i was not sure what to expect, just hoping for fast and tight bass response. That was my only concern. What i got is something that is ready for war with ER4S.

You get a good looking box, semi hard carrying case inside, 3 pairs of silicone eartips (S,M,L) and 8 core silver plated copper cable. The tips are very good quality, soft and comfortable, no need for aftermarket tips. The cable is soft, durable and very well made. Zero microphonics.

Build, fit and comfort.

IMG_20190508_163154.jpg

ee6d8875.jpg

The build is very solid, similar to Kanas pro, all metal build but the F3 is made of aluminum alloy. They look shockingly good in person, like a jewelry. Surgical precision in their build quality. The fit is great, the shape is like a semi custom earphone. Comfort is very good.

Isolation.
The isolation is good not great, they have vent in the front.

Overall sound signature.
The sound is neutral in the bass with mid and treble focus and extreme resolution.
EDIT - They need minimum 150 hours of burn in

Bass - 5mm dynamic driver
The bass sound completely flat in a DF target curve, think of ER4S bass without the roll off under 50hz. With a tactical feel to it, is not big in quantity but you can feel how it pushes air in the lower octaves with very fast hits.
The control is better than anything that i have right now, it doesn't sound like a typical dynamic driver. Extreme speed and tightness. The speed is similar to fast BA woofer but the texture and details sound more like a planar driver. The bass is deep, clean, always under control and very detailed sounding. No warmth from the mid bass or something like that. Technical bass response, it can sound lean for some people.
I really enjoy how clean and uncolored it is, you can appreciate that kind of bass with real instruments, kick drums, bass guitars and so on.

Mids - 10mm planar magnetic driver
Planars are usually very good in the mids, F3 is no exception. The lower midrange is neutral, uncolored, forward middle and upper mids, female vocals, strings, violins and everything in the midrange area sound clean and well separated. Male vocals are not left behind, they are just not thick sounding, realistic without color. That was evident when i tested the male vocals with Steve Strauss – "Just like Love" album, the correct tonality was there from the first song. Dynamic and lifelike vocals, male and female. Similar to Ortofon Q5 but better, the Q5 have some mid and upper bass boost that was coloring the midrange, not the F3. One of the best mids to date for me.

Treble - BA driver
The treble is forward similar to the mids. A lot of air and details, the treble is boosted but is not harsh to me, cymbals sound natural with snap to them. Revealing, if you are listening to bad recordings the F3 will show that, but with well mastered recordings you will be amazed by the amount of details and resolution. The extension is excellent.
If you are sensitive to treble be aware. They will attack you with the wrong track.

Soundstage and imaging.
Soundstage is wide and deep. Changing depending on the recording. If the recording is wide it will present that, if it is intimate will show that as well.
Accurate and specific imaging, never confused, no matter how complex the track is, it will separate every sound in a instant, i have earphones with good imaging but not like F3, the F3 is in a whole other level.

Detail retrieval and transient response.
Fast earphones are very enjoyable for me, they can show more, recover quickly without smearing. That is a strong point of F3, every driver inside is fast. Detail retrieval is very high and effortless. It will show everything in your music, that makes them unforgiving with bad recordings.

Comparisons.
With Kanas pro (by fresh memory)
Bass
KP has more bass, dramatic and rumbly. F3 is more precise, faster and light.
Mids
KP has neutral midrange with sweetness, very musical and liquid, F3 is more forward with better dynamic range and clarity.
Treble
KP has a peak in the upper treble with a dip before that, F3 has the whole treble area boosted.
That makes the treble of F3 more even sounding because there is no depression in the lower treble like KP but it is more aggressive, also the treble on F3 is faster sounding. The texturing is finer and easy to hear on F3.
Soundstage and imaging
Stage size is very similar, the imaging on KP is very good but F3 is a step above. F3 reacts better under pressure with fast and complex tracks.
Overall the KP is more musical sounding, F3 is more technical and clean, the speed is big advantage for F3 in the whole presentation. KP is more forgiving to bad recordings, it will show imperfections but F3 will show more.

With Final E5000
Bass
E5000 has more bass, the bass sound very boosted in comparison to F3, E5000 has tight and fast bass(faster than KP), F3 is a lot lighter but faster and cleaner. F3 has the fastest bass response of the three.
Mids
Because of the boosted bass the mids on E5000 are warm and euphoric, F3 has very neutral lower mids but the upper mids are forward, cleaner and more dynamic sounding on F3. More musical and romantic on E5000.
Treble
E5000 have clean and neutral sounding treble, but because it has big bass line and warm mids the treble can sound subdued in the whole signature, F3 has more treble and is cleaner and more airy in comparison.
Soundstage and imaging
E5000 has wide soundstage, F3 has similar width but more dept.
Imaging on E5000 is like KP, very good, F3 is better.
Overall E5000 is very musical, more than KP, with good technical performance, despite the warmth it is surprisingly detailed, F3 is more analytical and clean sounding, they differ greatly in the sound signature.

With Etymotic ER4S
Bass
Similar quantity but F3 goes lower and has tactical feel to the bass that is very rare, the texture is better on F3. ER4S still has clean tight bass but not as detailed as F3, the speed is hard to compare though, both are very fast.
Mids
ER4S sound more neutral in the mids, calmer also, F3 has more mid energy and better dynamic range, it is more revealing than ER4S. Lower part of the mids sound similar but middle and upper mids are more pronounced on F3.
Treble
ER4S has very nice clean treble, it is fine and airy but it lacks body sometimes, F3 have more body to the cymbals and overall more treble. The treble on F3 sound more realistic and dynamic.
Soundstage and imaging
The soundstage on ER4S is not very wide, F3 has bigger stage size, ER4S has very good imaging, specific, similar to F3 but F3 has bigger soundstage, for that reason the separation of the instruments is more distinct.
Overall ER4S is closer to the sound of the F3 than the other two dynamics, but F3 sound like a extreme version of ER4S.

Conclusion.
Masterpiece of a earphone, amazing build quality and look, very technical sound but not musical, pick your poison.

Have a good one.

I'll try that, thanks for responding. I tried them with a pure OFC cable instead of the Nicehck SPC that they supplied in the packaging and it tamed the brightness a little further if ever anyone is curious to try.

I just tried using Monster gel Supertips and their foam/Silicon hybrid. Never could get used to those tips on any IEM... These seem to fit the bill for me. I get a much better seal, thus better bass response.

Pros: very big soundstage, solid build, the bass is fast and tight, clean midrange, good isolation, very good treble response (with very wide bore tips), high on details, respond very well to EQ, very fun to listen to
Cons: small roll off in the sub bass and upper treble region, the imaging is not very precise and specific, treble still have room for improvement

I enjoy different kinds of music, searching for good all rounder was on my mind for a long time.
Over the years i realized that all rounders can give you satisfaction for a limited amount of time.
You can look at them in a different way - good with everything or not good enough for your favorite type of music at that time.
One type of music is dominating my time lately after work, electronic music, old stuff, good stuff.
What are the main qualities for a earphone to excel with that? Speed, soundstage size and clean tonality.
I was reading the CCA thread and the user 1clearhead was very happy with them, so i decided to buy them from the recent Ali sale for around 85$.

Build, fit and comfort
The build is amazing, they are very solid with some heft to them, stock tips are not good for me, the cable is good but i use balanced cable that is better, the fit is great for me but the comfort is good only for the first 3 - 4 hours, after that i feel some pressure on my ear.

isolation
good not great, my other full BA sets have better isolation

Overall sound signature.
very clean overall with added kick in the mid bass and some extra energy in the upper mids and treble

Bass
I was very surprised how clean and tight was the bass on first listen, the bass is always tight, never bloated, however they have some roll off in the sub bass area and with mid bass hump, the mid bass is less boosted compared to Hisenior B5 but is there and the boost is noticeable. The mid bass boost can give some overall warmth but not much.

Mids
The mids sound very clean and present, they have boost in the upper mids somewhere, for vocal music they are very good favoring female vocals over the male. They have a dip in the lower mids.
With male vocals some may find them not full enough in the lower mid range, they have some warmth from the mid bass but no thickness, i like that, it is refreshing to have something that is more clean and less warm.

Treble
The treble has some extra energy in the lower and middle part but they are not sibilant or harsh.
The extension is about average, i expected better extension in the treble because they use 4 drivers per side for highs. They extend to around 12-13khz before dropping off after that.
Treble is the weak point in my opinion, it has unrefined kind of tone, a little bit dry sounding, papery.
If the cymbal hit is in the lower treble region it sounds good and realistic, but if it is in the middle and upper treble it sound unrefined.
EDIT -
I should point that when i wrote that review it was with different tips, with the new white ones (in the pic)
the treble is improved a lot (you need to use very wide bore tips to add body to the cymbals and improve the tone of the treble).
IMG_20190429_185726.jpg

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage is very big and wide, no question about it, you want that kind of soundstage size for your electronic music, it is fun and engaging.
The imaging is good not great, the center imaging is very good and precise but when the sound goes wider they are a little bit confused, is not very specific like a earphone with very dark background.

EQ settings
Removing the mid bass bump and boosting the sub bass works great for my taste, the woofers can take that boost without any problems and the bass stays tight and clean but there is no roll off anymore.
Extra energy in the upper treble improve the sense of air and space without harshness.
Screenshot (266).png

Conclusion
They excel with electronic music, the speed, soundstage size and overall very clean tone makes them very good value for the money. For audiophile recordings with real instruments they sound very good in the bass and midrange, the treble quality have some room for improvement (see the edit under the treble section).

Peace
DocHoliday
DocHoliday
you need to use very wide bore tips to add body to the cymbals and improve the tone of the treble.

Enjoyed your feedback on the C16.

Also, wide-bores usually clean up mid-bass and assist in a cleaner and more airy presentation.

Cons: mid and upper bass bump, rolled of sub bass, dip in the lower treble, short nozzle,
mids can be too forward for some

They say "if you love something, be short when you write about it"
So this is gonna be short.

At the beginning of my audio journey i was not sure what i really like.
Until i got Ortofon Q5.
The difference from my normal headphones at that point was the mid range, it was incredibly forward, the voices had that very alive and close to you feeling, like the singer sing half meter from you.
I was thinking at that time "man, that ting is very addictive, it is strange with synths and electronic music but with vocals, i don't want to listen other headphones with vocal music"
The problem was the fragile cable and treble grain, so i let them go hoping that i could find something similar but more durable and with removable cable.
Before one year i was lurking on aliexpress for BA earphone. Something in 100 $ price range.
I was using the search engine and the brand Hisenior came out.
The B5+ was the cheapest model from their BA line and with Knowles drivers, one of them knowles 26989(the same one in the Etymotic ER4S), i decided to bite the bullet on that one, the build was nice, good drivers, i was thinking "let's see"

Build, fit and comfort
The build is solid, they are like half filed with resin, the nozzle is short but they are very ergonomic so the fit should be fine.
The cable is stiff, aftermarket cable is a must for me, tips are fine, the red ones are the same that come with a lot of chi fi in ears.
The comfort is very good, the shape is well thought and they are not very big.

isolation
Strong isolation when you have good fit

Overall sound signature.
warm, VERY mid forward, clean and extended treble

Bass
The bass is good not great, it rolls of at the sub bass area, it has a bump in the upper and mid bass, it is very full and interesting sounding with real instruments, never bloated because of the good speed, but is a little bit much for me stock without EQ, too warm kind of bass.

Mids
Ah the strong point, they are all about the mids.
The mids are dominating the whole signature, when you listen to Fiona Apple for example her voice is in your face. Strong, full and lush.
It is a little bit strange if you are coming from a neutral sounding earphone, but once you taste it, there is no way back.
The mids are strong in the lower to middle midrange, think from 500hz - 1.5khz.
With vocal music they are a real treat, with jazz, accustic, indie music, you get the point.
The problem with such a powerful midrange is when you start listening to electronic music and metal, the instruments that are in this area sound very forward as well, some may like it, i don't.

Treble
The treble has a dip in the lower range, but mid and upper treble are there, so the treble is more fine and airy, there is no grain, the extension is very good, one disadvantage for that tuning is that the cymbals are not very crunchy, i personally like that type of tuning, in quantity the treble is there, is not dark or bright.
Overall very nice clean treble.

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage is very good, probably because of that treble tunning, i find earphones with lack of upper treble to suffer in the soundstage department in general, with B5 that is not the case.
The imaging is great, the background is very dark, the instruments are very well separated and very specific.

EQ settings
With upper and mid bass reduction the sound is improved, they retain the lushness but the overall warmth is not too much, also the sub bass response is improved.
Screenshot (260).png

Conclusion
They are not all rounders, but for vocals they can be very intense in a good way.
Happy holidays

Edit - they make customs of the B5+ too, awesome work

These IEMs look dope but there are not many reviews on them. Thanks @FastAndClean for the good review. I don't have many mid centric IEMs and they interest me a lot.
I saw at the upcoming AE sale they are going for $79 USD with upgraded storage box and cables added in. very tempted to pull the trigger.
Is there a difference between the Hisenior B5+ and a B5? Is there even a regular B5 version?
FastAndClean
FastAndClean
B5+ is the updated version, have no idea if the regular B5 is still in production

Previously known as presata
Pros: Warm and organic sound, musicality over the top, wide soundstage, big bass line without losing control, very high level of detail represented in a gentle way, warm and smooth mids, beautiful treble response
Cons: a little bit too much mid bass for my taste(EQ it down and you are ready to go), wide stage but not very deep
i-img1200x900-1574229476cigfe414895.jpg

Fit and comfort
You know that one just by looking at them, small, light, amazing comfort and fit.

Isolation
weak point, they have vents all over the place, the isolation is weak, they can block some noise but not a lot, for me that is good, i don't use them outside

Overall sound signature.
Warm, lush signature with big bass and smooth creamy mids and treble.

Bass
That thing can hit, the bass is elevated, the whole bass area, sub and mid bass.
Very deep and punchy, it has very good texture and control, however the mid bass is a little bit too much for me, with 2.5db down from 100 - 200hz and is perfect. Tight, deep and punchy bass. Detail retrieval is very high and the bass sound natural with real instruments.

Mids
The mids are warm and smooth, creamy sounding, just beautiful. They are not forward or recessed, right in the middle but have very smooth inoffensive tone to them. Vocals sound realistic and clean but without adding too much color, just a little bit of warmth.

Treble
The treble is gentle, it has a little bit of sparkle but in a smooth way, no narrow peaks here. One of the most natural sounding treble. The extension is good not great, very high level of detail but extension demons they are not. For some people they can lack sparkle, for me they are perfect, i enjoy different kind of signatures and can appreciate their approach.

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage is very wide but not very deep, the instruments and the vocals are kind of close to you but surrounding you at the same time. Imaging is spot on, very good positioning and instrument separation.

comparison between Final E5000 and Kanas Pro -
Bass - KP rumble harder, E5000 punch harder, KP sound more meaty in the bass, it sounds big, not like in quantity but like the bass is coming from a big woofer, both have tight bass, E5000 seems a little bit quicker, E5000 need mid bass reduction with EQ to really shine, KP don't but i am doing it anyway (i am not a mid bass fan)
Mids - they are very similar, neutral, KP have a little bit cleaner mids, E5000 have more euphoric warm mids
Treble - KP has nice clean treble with sparkle in the upper part, they have more air and more snap to the cymbals, E5000 has very high quality treble but is very neutral sounding and next to the big bass line it can be a little bit subdued sounding
Soundstage - E5000 has a nice wide soundstage but it lacks depth, the instruments are close to you but because it is very wide they are like surrounding you at the same time, KP is wide and deep
Isolation - E5000 has weak isolation, KP is better but still less than fully closed in ear

Conclusion
Great warm sounding little in ear with hard hitting bass, kind of a dark horse of the whole line.

Build quality

1183955_190d48dc-22cc-42de-bf4c-a0ffc6ebc519_1125_844.jpg

Fit and comfort
In one word excellent, they are small and very ergonomic.

Isolation
Good not great, they are vented, the isolation is good enough for me but Ety they are not.

Overall sound signature.
The Kanas pro is neutral in the mids and treble with a slight sub bass boost.

Bass
The bass is neutral according to the harman target curve, and it sounds like that, the tonality is very rare because there is no boosted mid bass, they have extra energy only in the very low bass.
That makes the bass clean at all times avoiding spillage into the mids with no boomines whatsoever, at the same time the bass is tight and full of texture and details, very effortless and dynamic sounding.
If the song calls for a deep powerful rumble you will get it, it will stay clean and tight no matter the volume.

Mids.
The mids are very neutral, they sound very flat to me, no color at all.
I personally love forward mids, but to find a earphone with very neutral mids was a pleasant surprise.
Overall very clean and realistic mids with smoothness and precision at the same time.

Treble
The highs have a peak in the upper treble similar to the Etymotic ER4S, around 15khz, no lower treble peaks, that makes the treble very airy and breathy sounding.
Great details and never harsh, no grain, my go to test for treble quality is the Jim Keltner - Improvisation track and the Kanas pro pass that test with flying colors.

Soundstage and imaging.
The soundstage is wide and deep, very immpresive, the positioning is precise, pinpoint accuracy of the instruments within that big soundstage.

Comparison with the Etymotic ER4S
The Kanas Pro is the logical upgrade to the ER4S, it improves in all the weak areas of ER4S.
First the bass
The ER4S have nice and clean bass but it rolls of in the sub bass area and it has that BA decay and the texture could be better, Kanas Pro have the texture and the power in the low bass, also ER4S lack dynamic range, not the Kanas.
Mids
ER4S have forward mids with extra energy in the upper part, it can sound thin sometimes, the Kanas improve here again with very neutral mids that sound tonally correct.
Treble
The treble sound similar with a little bit more shimmer on the Kanas Pro, the Kanas Pro also have more body to the cymbals.
Soundstage
ER4S have small soundstage, the Kanas sound huge in comparison.
Dynamic range
ER4S sound compressed, i love them but the dynamics are close to dead, Kanas Pro can jump at you when the song calls for it, big advantage here.
Edit -
comparison between Final E5000 and Kanas Pro -
Bass - KP rumble harder, E5000 punch harder, KP sound more meaty in the bass, it sounds big, not like in quantity but like the bass is comming from a big woofer, both have tight bass, E5000 seems a little bit quicker, E5000 need mid bass reduction with EQ to really shine, KP don't but i am doing it anyway (i am not a mid bass fan)
Mids - they are very similar, neutral, KP have a little bit cleaner mids, E5000 have more euphoric warm mids
Treble - KP has nice clean treble with sparke in the upper part, they have more air and more snap to the cymbals, E5000 has very high quality treble but is very neutral sounding and next to the big bass line it can be a little bit subdued sounding
Soundstage - E5000 has a nice wide soundstage but it lacks depth, the instruments are close to you but because it is very wide they are like surrounding you at the same time, KP is wide and deep
Isolation - E5000 has weak isolation, KP is better but still less than fully closed in ear
Conclusion.
Top tier sound for around 180$, YES PLEASEEEEEE

Sorry for my bad english.
Happy holidays.

Hi my freind. Thanks for this nice review.

The following sound definitions fit me;

Does kpe meet these definitions?

Have BGVP DM6 and Kanas pro. I like them both, they are at the same sound level and fidelity. Only different tuning. Kanas pro is more smooth, not so sibilant in treble region of 6-8 khz. So there is no these ss shhh sibilance in vocals and peaks. With kanas pro the signature is balanced all around the sound spectrum. It's really amazing iem for such money, and can compete with iems closer to 1000 $. I am really happy with them.

To get a good fit is easy for me with FXA2, they have ergonomic shape, that makes them very comfortable, i prefer deep fit with them and i use Sony xba 10 c tips, stock tips are not properly salutet.

Sound

I had FXA7 before the FXA2, I liked the fxa7 but they had some flaws that was not acceptable for me at 500us price range. The mids was recessed, the treble was roll off early, and they had grain in the upper mid/lower treble. The fxa2 have fuller mids and better treble than fxa7, that was pleasant surprise for me because i got them for bass heavy music.

Bass: Bass is the strong point, it is deep and powerful, there's no roll off at the lowest octave at all, the biggest rise in the bass is in sub bass region which is spectacular for bass lovers, they have a lot of punch as well, true subwoofer experiense.
Control of the bass is very good considering the quantity, is still quality bass, fxa7 have better control but less quantity.
Texture is good and instruments like bass guitars and drums sound dramatic and powerful, real treat.
Without eq they are bassy but not in the bass head territory, however they respond extremely well to eq and can easily turn to basshead IEM

Mids: Mids are warm and creamy, they are little bit forward but not to much, there is no upper mid peaks, lower mids are a little bit thick, overall mids are clear and romantic, the voice of Sara K sound absolutely beautiful on them.

Treble: the treble sound clean and very natural, the difference from fxa7 are clear here, treble extend to about 14 khz on test tones, it has very nice sparkle but it is never harsh, they are not bright not dark, just the right amount of clean treble.

Soundstage: Soundstage has good width, it is not very deep, voices sound more intimate, but the width is good, above average, fxa7 has bigger and better soundstage by comparison, imaging is good, instrument placement are clear inside the soundstage.

Isolation: Isolation is amazing, with deep fit isolation is comparable to Etymotic er4s, i was really surprised because they are ported design.

Amping: They are easy to drive but with my magni 2 control of the bass was better in comparison with dragonfly alone.

conclusion: I like them very much, i got them second hand for 100 dollars and for that price they are amazing, i thing for the asking price of 200 they are still good value considering the sound and overall package. They are a lot stronger value than the fxa7, for sure.
