Sennheiser HD-212 pro allegedly has tons of bass.

You might want to try getting an amp with a bass boost feature.  I have a JDS bass boost cmoy.  It's cheap, and the bass boost is great.

I have a DT770.  I use a JDS Cmoy.  It's great.  The bass boost feature is awesome.  Here's a link: http://www.jdslabs.com/products.php   I also have a Total Bithead.  I prefer the JDS.

Check out the JSeaber cMoy v2.01 JDS Labs I use it with my DT770's. With the bass boost switch on, it delivers tons of bass. Very nice and affordable too.

hey knights, thanks for the info. i'm pretty sure that the hd415 and the hd435 are the same headphone, except the latter has an inline volume control and flashy red panels. were you able to try the 212 pro? i'm interested to know how it compares.

For those of you who have heard both the Sennheiser hd435/415 and the 212 Pro, how does the bass compare?

I, too, have the SR60s with comfies and bowls, and I, too, prefer the comfies to the bowls. The comfies are just so much more, well, comfy, and contrary to what many say, seem to enhance the bass. Every time I put on the bowls on my SR60s, I take them off almost immediately and put the comfies...

Equation Audio RP-22X are great for bass heavy music like rap. probably not as comfortable as the QC2's though. but i really like them.

the total bithead has a DAC, gain switch, and runs on 4 AAA batteries, so i think it satisfies your requirements. sounds great too!
