Just to get back on topic here, I use the E3C's with no equalization whatsoever and I am very satisfied. OK, once in a while I'll turn on the "bass booster" on my iPod, but then I turn it off again

They are worth what you paid for them Personally, I think you could do a lot better with a pair of Senn MX500's for less than $20.

Unless you've got eyes in the back of your head, you've just been lucky so far. If you want to risk your own neck you can do that, but you are also putting other people in danger.

I think it's reckless to use any canal phones, or any headphones for that matter, on a bicycle. Listen for traffic instead of music.

I think you would like the E3C's because they have better bass. The Ety's are supposed to have more "detail," but you aren't going to notice it in a commuting environment, whereas you will notice the lack of bass.
