At the best buy I went to to get my mdr-v300's, there was nothing good as far as I can remember. I didn't look terribly closely, though.

I assume you want portable? Do they have to be 'in store' or can you use their site? They even have CD3Ks there.

Probably don't want that for the iPod (though they sound very nice, just overkill).

They carry KSC-50's at Best Buy last time I checked.

I have never seen anything at Best Buy....it's mindboggling that a major chain doesn't even carry a single decent and basic headphone.

I used to like Best Buy about ten years ago....now it's a joke compared to internet offerings.

For example, try shopping for decent competitively priced and current computer hardware....good luck.

I'll take Newegg over BB any day of the week.

Not much of a selection at Best Buy. The KCS 50's or the Sennheiser PX are probably going to be your best bet. A lot of iPod users like the Sony EX 51's, but not many people here do.

Working at best buy, I get koss the plugs for $6. I dont know why you guys rag on them so hard, I like them quite a bit. Treble is a bit harsh, but bass is very well defined and mids arent bad.

The only cans I was interested in at My local BB were koss UR40s and EX51. I went with the EX51. IMHO the 2 worst sony cans are V600 and V700DJ... plenty of those in stock

The UR40 just seemed too fragile for me. Disapointing.. I really wanted to like them. They sound very good though IMHO. I wish my EX51 had more mids though, but thats when I turn up the EQ at 3200Hz.

EDIT: Oh wait... with iPod... I guess these http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....2&type=product

Well, I stand corrected. BB does sell a decent headphone. I had no idea they sold CD3000's....though the price seems high.

For sheer sound quality, I agree that the portapro's will tromp the other phones at BB (Senn PX series, EX-(XX), UR40's). Or get KSC-35's for cheaper yet at koss.com.

Even with your discount, you'll find the BB offered phones cheaper elsewhere. Unless you get a 50% discount
