The I2S on the Spring sounds much more detailed and open then the USB it is equipped with. I didn't notice any noise or the like with the USB, but it was literally night and day regarding detail and presence. I am sure the USB implementation on my unit is not the fancy one others have experience...

I found the Singxer unit I had to be 'thinner' sounding than the Hydra, though that may be a good thing depending on ones components.

I found my Springs USB to be rather dark and lifeless sounding, and am life boating with the AES input at the moment.

I'm coming from a Holo Spring: my i2s blew out do to a kitten dislodging the HDMI while powered on...the i2s is the most desirable input to me...is anyone using a DDC to the i2s on the Cyan? And, if so, what is your impression? I am using the Hydra z as my DDC...

Sorry if I missed this, but has anyone used the Audiobyte (Rockna) Hydra-Z with the Peggy? My Holo Spring I2s blew up and I'm looking for an inexpensive decent r2r DAC with I2s implementation.

I was looking at either the Mundorf Supreme Silver/Gold/Oils, or of I can fit them in, one of the Miflex options, unless I can find some Duelunds that don't cost as much as the...

your u12 sounds to be working normal. you will only get dsd through the i2s out from the u12, or the usb in on your dac sans the u12.

yep, for true full tilt dsd non dop you would need usb from your dac, or the i2s hdmi on another dac to utilize the u12. you will not get the resolve of true dsd files via dop, but this may be somewhat moot if all other devices are not resolving..

you would need to use the i2s out from the gustard to get true dsd.

LOL so if anyone else replaces a termination its ok but my job is suspect? LOL if the dac 60 spdif is indeed 75 ohm, a true 75 ohm from source to cable to destination termination of same (bnc) will be true 75ohm. i'm just not buying ($$$) expensive rca terminations claiming to be true 75 ohm...

just the cable ends, though this might warrant a switchout of at least the dac outputs. haven't checked the jungson inputs yet...

decided to go ebay for the solid silver/cotton dielectric rca interconnect cables, great deal on braided 20 gauge, and ordered the eichmanns.  the breeze unit should be here by tuesday. be interesting re results w/the dac60...

...if i pick one up...just ordered the breeze with the talema and expedited shipping...

if i could get a remedy with a bnc on the front side, id be a happy man...i guess id have to call wyred or take a shot at removing the existing rca in from the remedy board...
