Hey guys so I have been looking at OtL amps for my 650's and been considering the schiit Valhalla 2, but noticed that the Darkvoice 336 just dripped on Massdrop. My question is what would you guys recommend from previous experience or from what you have read???

I am currently using the non-uber version and it works really well with the 650's, I will assume that its the same for the 600.  Either way I dont think you can go wrong, it comes down to matter of taste.

Just received my pair of HD 650 and wow they sound great!!! Coming from the new Hifiman's 400S I think these are better.  Dont get me wrong I think are pretty good in their own element, but for my taste of sound....oh boy they are just the right prescription!  I cant understand the veiled...

I feel the same way about eq'ing it just adds distortion (phase alteration) to the sound. I prefer to use a different headphone than to eq.

Cannot comment about the hd 598, but I personally think that the 400S are good enough with an ipad ( they will benefit from an amp) but they are still good with an iphone/ipad. I would suggest changing the pads to either the focus pads or brainwavz to give the sound the weight it needs for tv...

Do you think there is a big difference from the Mbox 2 to the 3?  Still I perceive an improvement over using an iphone or receiver.  Its a shame they do not provide with information regarding output impedance and such.

I don't know about the difference of sound of the Brainwavz vs the focus, but I have the both the Brainwavz and the leather. All I could say is that the leather in my opinion do not provide the bass benefit, to my ears they actually sound worst than the stock pads in that they reduce the mids...

Those look awesome! Yeah I have been going from the stock pads to these for a couple of weeks and both are excellent in what they provide. I am so please with the 400S, now I have to buy a good amp and DAC. What are you using ?

Yeah those are the correct ones, you will either need to remove the rings from the stock pads, buy the leather pads or email hifiman to buy the rings (some people have said this work for them). If and when you get them strech them before trying anything it may seem as if the rings wont fit but...
