Wow. I've never seen so much inaccurate information in a thread on a board in my life. 1. AMD has no bearing on you getting a virus in XP. A virus is a piece of software that infects the OS (xp, me, 98), not the hardware. 2. AVG 7.5 is still free. And it DOES have a scheduler and real time...- awu_gigabyte

580/600/650 Pad Replacements
Well they got wet! I submerged them for a good hour in detergent, the foams smell is gone, but pads you can still smell alittle bit of the last user, but i'm sure that will go away with time. I'm tempted to buy new pads from senn, but i'm afraid someone will come along with a link for 2.99...- awu_gigabyte

580/600/650 Pad Replacements
Thanks for the reply. I came across the thread about washing them right after i posted this thread. I'll probably still be picking up some new ones, but i did wash the pads and the foam with laundry detergent, they're still alittle dry, but that sweaty smell is mostly gone. Thanks again...- awu_gigabyte

Hello all. I just purchased a pair of 650s on the forum here, and i'm considering getting a replacement set of pads, just to start fresh. headroom used to sell them for 35.00 not a few days ago, but i go today, and they've raised the rates to 45! Is there any other reputible place online to...- awu_gigabyte

"Burn In"? Try Flood In!
electronics can generally do well if they have been put in non salt water. As long as you let them dry, as to not short them when you plug it in, you'd be surprised what can go through water and still come out ok.- awu_gigabyte

Shure E4c foam tips
i notice that my foamies become to the point where they don't expand in my ears. Then i replace them (bought a 20 pack), and about a week or 2 later, the old ones have fully extended and are ready for another go round. Usually a set of foamies can be used twice, probably 5 to 7 sessions each time.- awu_gigabyte

Ultrasones.....Anyone.....
I've had the hfi-550s for a few months. I only break them out on special occasions when i want decent isolation but more bass than my shure e4c's. IMO they're extremely uncomfortable compared to my senn hd555s, which are my main can. They seem to press extremely hard on your head, gives me a...- awu_gigabyte

What are the best 9v rechargable batteries?
I use the energizer nickel metal rechargables. They're 150mha, and last about 4 hours or so in my headroom micro, but they are fairly cheap, and easy to get.- awu_gigabyte

Headroom Micro Amp and Headphone Limitations?
I just recently got my micro amp, and now i'm saving. I'm thinking about the gs1000s or something in that league. I'm wondering, what can this amp power? I realize i'm probably not going to be able to run k1000s, but short of needing multiple watts, does this amp have to power for most any...- awu_gigabyte

for the love of god...im using ipod earbuds..
I use my ipod earbuds almost daily. I use them mostly for listening to podcasts, b/c some of the ones i listen to, the audio quality isn't great, and i don't was to risk blowing out a driver in one of the good sets. Ibuds are great for toilet listening too!- awu_gigabyte

BEST CLOSED CAN--is there a clear favorite?
ULtrasone HFI 550 - love mine. Only problem with them is that they press pretty good on the sides of your head, maybe its my big head, but sound wise, i love them. They have TONS of bass too!- awu_gigabyte
