If I like Grado would I like the Sennheiser HD 595

I didn't. I was coming from an SR-125 and was hoping the Senn 595 would be a good upgrade from there. When I tried it out, I understood what they meant by the Sennheiser veil. That being said, I went to get an Alessandro MS-2 instead and did not regret it. These are awesome cans (they are on my...

    Heed canamp question

Mine' the opposite. When I turn down the volume and no music is playing, I hear a radio signal through my headphones. not too much on my K601, but moreso on my Grados.

Amazon only has the one with the volume control though, I believe.

What about the Heed CanAmp & AKG K601?

Will the K601 be ignored yet again?

What about the Heed CanAmp & AKG K601?

I know the K601 is probably the least popular among the AKG Kx01 series, but does any one have experience with how the CanAmp pairs with this? Is it blissful?

    Heed CanAmp Power Consumption?

Does anyone know what the ampere rating is for the CanAmp? Or how many watts it consumes? I've ordered the 110 V version (since I think it's cheaper and I can use it while I'm in the States) which will eventually be used in the Philippines (where 220 V is more common). I'd like to find out what...

    AKG K601 Foam Pad Mod

I'm still trying to decide whether this makes the highs a little less smooth though.

    AKG K601 Foam Pad Mod

I tried removing the thin piece of foam pad that's sandwiched between the drivers and the donut circumaural pads, and that seemed to bring out the highs and tighten the bass. I haven't heard the k501 which is known to lean towards the top end, but I think this mod brings the K601 closer to Grado...

    AKG K601 vs. Sennheiser Veil

I'm curious about the K601. I've heard that one of the characteristics of these phones is that they have a treble roll-off compared to the K501 and the K701. Is this only relative to the other AKG phones? Would you say that these are still brighter or "unveiled" compared to the Sennheiser house...

    Revenge of the Grado SR-125

I've had my Grado SR-125s for over a year now, but I have not been able to listen to them for the past 8 months as I had to leave the country and the phones behind for a long term assignment. I remember liking their sound, but finding them to be a bit lean on the bass and a little too harsh on...

I finally "got" Ellliott Smith. Ever happen for you that way? With what musicians?

Same thing with me with Radiohead. I thought OK Computer was too slow and boring, and Kid A too weird, slow and boring. But these are now two of my favorite albums of all time. I would guess that I'm not alone in my experience with this band.

A bit overwhelmed... New headphone shopper

Except for your noise cancelling needs, the Grados seem to fit the bill. EDIT: Oh, and at $300, there's the Grado/Alessandro MS2 which is worth considering.

Jahn... how are those liberator thingies???

Hm, I wonder how those would sound with upper Grados like the MS2. Does anyone know?
