    SR-404 and/or SR-303 Burn In - Is this what's needed?

I have never heard any difference from my headphones new and "burned-in". There's a small difference when the amp is cold and after about an hour, doesn't matter if it's a tube amp or SS.

Owned the RS-1 now looking for something less warm

RS-1, warm and laid-back?! I guess this hobby is EXTREMELY subjective.. I haven't heard anything more agressive than Grados (owned SR-60, RS-1 and SR-325 not the SR-325i), if any the sony SA-5000 might be the phone you're looking for, from what i read (one of the few highend phones i...

Is pressing the earpads to your head a bad thing to do with the MkI? Does it make any damage on the driver? I think it sounds like its gonna crack when it "farts". //

Purchasing a headphone in a week. Need Suggestions.

Oh my bad, didn't catch the non-leaking part. I would then probably look at the HD-25 and the ATH-ES7.

    Omega II with Lesser Energizer?

Im driving my O2 from the lesser SRM-006t through my iBasso D1 from the computer and it sounds really good. Almost as good as from my Shanling SCD-300 with XLR. It's not as transparent or detailed but its really not that far from it.

Advice: Looking for closed cans around ~350$

I would go for the ATH-ESW9 if you want some portability, if not go for the ATH-W1000. It doesn't get the appreciation that it deserves here on head-fi. Both cans are pretty similar in sound signature but the W1000 is more comfortable and has a more detailed and punchy bass, the ESW9 has more...

What Full Size Headphones and Equipment Takes You "There"?

I think the Stax 4070 is the end of my searching for the perfect sound. They amaze me with whatever i throw at them. They are more analytical than the O2 and that's why i like them more, i think.

I bought a Stax Signature system 3 years ago...

yeah i do, i've never heard anything better and i like it that way cause i've spent more than $3000 on audio equipment the last month so i can't afford to listen to a KGSS, 007t or whatever..

After only one hour of listening i much prefer the 4070 over the O2. It's more upfront, like a electrostatic grado. There's more bass and it's punchier. back to listening

Audio Technica ATH-W1000...is this considered a Reference Headphone

I owned the W1000 for about 2½ years, and i wan't to say that its definately more a reference phone than a portable phone. I think its underestimated, i goes for under $400 and sounds extremely good. I personally think it sound better than HD650 and K701. The midrange and bass is something...

I just took the plunge and ordered a pair of Stax 4070 and that made me realise that this month have been THE headphone month of my life. I've bought the AT ESW9, AT W5000, Stax SR-007, Stax 4070 and AT HA5000 along with some other shiz but thats another story,, Can't wait until I get to...

Yes, the SCD-300 have a tubed output. Though i like the balanced SS output better Riding the bus with K1000 would be something.. I agree that grados suck for public use but i had to try it. Don't like when ppl can hear what i'm listening to either so that's why i went another path for...

    Upgraded,, a bit.. :D

I've been reading here on head-fi for a couple years and i think i've reached my final point when it comes to personal listening. I started my journey with a pair of SR-60 and went on to RS-1, this was approx 3 years ago. I bought a pair of SR-325 to have on the go instead of the RS-1, didn't...
