New Sennheiser-Adidas CX 680 Sport IEM Review
Hey guys here's my review of the new Sennheiser-Adidas CX 680 Sport IEM's. Actually I would consider them more "half" IEM's as they don't really go in your ear canal that much. Sennheiser-Adidas CX 680 (Review) | Skatter Tech While they're not the best sounding, and continue on Senn's...- FaRKle

Disaster strikes my HD600
Quote: just got an email saying it is on the way! They knew I needed them for a head-fi meet on 2/14 with wiatrob, naamanf, blutarsky, Sherwood and a couple of others. Quote: Great news Larry, I assume you'll have it in time for the meet? Yup, he'll definitely get it in...- FaRKle

Which custom IEM to get?
Quote: It is made by a diyer from China. He imports the same units for UE11 and put them into his own custom IEMs called UM4. HIGHLY doubtable. UE uses proprietary drivers from Knowles that are exclusive to them.- FaRKle

Quote: And hopely I will get the gems less than 3 weeks, I told John that I've been concerning if it will take at least 6 weeks for international orders. But he told me they have outcome the problem and the production is very fast now, it should take about 2 weeks. So, let see. I sure...- FaRKle

Shure Se420 bad experience....Anything better?
Quote: Im not sure exactly how i'd go about the livewire's as being in the uk i'm a tad limited by what i can get. That's no excuse! Just look at Baines! He's in the UK and he got his for free! They ship a good amount of Livewires to the UK from my understanding.- FaRKle

Ultimate Ears UE5 vs UE7 vs UE10 vs UE11 - how much of a difference is there REALLY?
The Livewires completely blow the PK-1's away sound quality-wise. I tried both of them back to back and the PK-1's clarity and range came nowhere close to Livewires'. I felt like "why would I spend money on these (PK-1's)?" when I had my Livewires.- FaRKle

Livewires - California Dreamin'
Quote: I'm not much of a photographer and they were taken with the iPhone 3G's camera. Enjoy! I'm surprised you didn't have them modify your iPhone cable for you. I've seen their modded iPhone cables where they basically chop off the iBuds and put Livewires connectors on there. That...- FaRKle

Quote: Yea I emailed them and they haven't gotten back to me yet so I was wondering if any Head-Fi'ers had a recommendation. Try calling them. I stopped emailing them when I found out John isn't the most dilligent when it comes to answering emails. I've had 100% success calling.- FaRKle

Headphones for College
Quote: If you have the time, Id order a custom like the Livewires, thats what I wish Id done. I never feel like I can casually listen to my IEMs; if they go in, they need to stay there for at least an hour or its just too much of a hassle (with adjustment, fit, seal and whatnot). X3...- FaRKle

CAN ANYBODY MAKE ME A CUSTOM CABLE FOR LIVEWIRES?
If you can't get a custom cable for your Livewires, Livewires will mod an existing iPhone cable to work with Livewires. John showed it to me a while ago and it was pretty cool. They basically replace the ibuds on the iPhone cable with their Livewires connectors.- FaRKle

Livewires Vs. Freq.
AFAIK Livewires doesn't have an "upgrade" cable. I know they have a cable with a 50ohm resistor, but that's mainly to get rid of the hiss on lower quality sources (laptop, old ipod, ect). The standard cable performed better when I was able to A-B the normal and 50ohm cable a while ago.- FaRKle

New IEM company!!!!
Starkey's been around A LONG time. They're a dominant player in the hearing-aid business. I know they were offering custom IEM's for at least the past year and a half, although nobody bought'em (I just thought they weren't very good if nobody had bought'em).- FaRKle

Quote: Well, Earl co-founded the company, so I doubt not being the source is the real issue. I know for a fact that he's almost constantly on the road, leaving just his wife running the office. Quote: Thank goodness I live in California. The Nashville office sounds like a completely different company altogether. lol. It's like they say, "If you want the best, go straight to the source (CA Office)!" Although I'd get my impressions done in Nashville if I lived around there.- FaRKle

Quote: At times the highs are so mumbled, like guitar and vocal on The Killers - Jenny Was A Friend of Mine, was horrible at the end, was just a myriad of piercing noise! Weird. That songs just great on my Livewires. No mubled sounds or painful highs.- FaRKle
