Of the ones you listed I have tried all but the X2's. I ended up buying the Pm-3's and have been very happy with them. Everyone's taste is subjective but I found them to be exactly what I was looking for. No headphone is perfect but it meets all of my criteria. I don't get the "boring" knock but...- Trea

Yeah it's like a weird clicking, popping sound. -
Has L/R imbalance of the HeadRoom's Micro amp been corrected?
Mine doesn't have this problem even at the lowest volumes. I guess it just depends on the pot. FWIW my go vibe v2 does have a slight channel imbalance at low volume, but it evens up around 8 o'clock on the knob.- Trea

Portable DVD Player As A Source?
I've used one and liked the sound, especially connected to the Headroom Micro stack via an optical cable. Using the regular line out, it wasn't as good as my Aiwa XP-33 pcdp, but I did like it better than the Sony D-11 that I have.- Trea

eMusic.com file quality?
I was a member there for a few months and most of the music that I got from them was encoded at 256k vbr. Some of it is encoded at 320k some at 224, but the majority was 256k. Ocasionally you will see some of their selections marked as 128k but at least they tell you before you download it.- Trea

How "Senn house sound" are the HD201s?
I listened to a pair yesterday. For 20 bucks you really can't go wrong, but they don't sound anything like the other Senns in my opinion.- Trea

HeadRoom and Head-Fi in Houston
First and foremost I'd like to thank Joel for hosting, and Tyll for bringing all the great gear. I spent quite a bit of time listening to Headroom's new line of amps and I have to say that across the board these things are great. I started off with the little guy, the micro stack. First thing...- Trea

Woodies- some PICS of my "portable" setup
I don't have an unmodded pair to compare them to, but they sound really nice compared to my SR-80 and my SR-225. Better bass, better soundstage than both. The highs are much less harsh than the sr-80, but about the same as the sr-225, to my ears anyway. I've been very happy with these cans once...- Trea
