REVIEW (in progress) - Nuforce HDP 24/96 USB-Optical 24/192 Coax DAC Preamp and Headphone Amp
For those who have tried the new Nuforce LPS-1 with their HDP's, it would be very nice if you could share your detailed opinions regarding the improvement in sound quality you get with the LPS-1, if any, over just using the HDP with the stock power supply- harpua

REVIEW (in progress) - Nuforce HDP 24/96 USB-Optical 24/192 Coax DAC Preamp and Headphone Amp
I'm also interested in more info about how the new Nuforce PSU affects the performance of the HDP. If it makes a significant difference I would probably be interested in perhaps purchasing one, especially if they offer some kind of discount or incentive to existing HDP owners. I hope that...- harpua

[Review] Nuforce Icon HDP
Congrats on getting an HDP! Hope you continue to enjoy it. Btw, external power is an advantage because it is cleaner and less subject to interference. Also, the external power supply can be upgraded at some point if you ever want. Supposedly that further improves the performance although I...- harpua

REVIEW (in progress) - Nuforce HDP 24/96 USB-Optical 24/192 Coax DAC Preamp and Headphone Amp
Quote: The slightly bright sound of the HDP pairs well with the lush warm sound of the 650's thus there is great synergy between the HDP and the HD650. I'm really happy with that combination.- harpua

Sound glitches ( last post ).
My set up in my sig works flawlessly through USB using WASAPI. Before I used WASAPI I would get an occasional audio glitch every now and then, just enough to be annoying. WASAPI completely eliminated that and my HDP is dead silent (except for the music) with both my IEMs and my HD650's. It...- harpua

Beats Audio
I would agree with the last comment above mine. I have an HP DV8t which came with a non beats but very decent onboard sound, again with the 3 Altec Lansing built in speakers (i.e., tiny sub below). Of course the onboard speakers are pretty bad, but better than anything else I've heard built...- harpua

E-MU 0204 USB: Damn, They've Done it Again! And for $129!!!
All I can say is that the external DAC/amp I plugged into my USB port on my laptop has made a huge difference in the quality of the sound I hear. So obviously it is significantly better than the on board DAC and amplification that are inside my computer. If I go back and try to listen to my...- harpua

iTunes V.S. Foobar2000: Smackdown.
Quote: Been using FB2K/WASAPI for a while now. I agree it's great. Foobar is a little confusing to configure at first and I guess that turns a lot of people off. But it sure is worth it to make the initial effort required to figure it out, imo. FB2k plus WASAPI plus my humble...- harpua

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Just remember that the HDP needs some burn in time (as much as 300 hrs) to sound its best, even more so than the HD650s, which, to me, sounded pretty great right out of the box. So don't judge the HDP too quickly. Although I thought mine sounded good at first, it got A LOT better after 300 hrs...- harpua

[Review] Nuforce Icon HDP
Vol control on mine is fine. It's perfectly balanced even at the lowest audible volumes and I have no issues with it. Can't imagine why it would be a concern. . . . Also, I can't hear any hissing on mine, either with my IEMs or my HD650's, unless I turn the volume up past 3 pm (HDP is...- harpua

Yes, I'm sorry the HD option wasn't available when I got my HDP from Crutchfield (with the $20 coupon at least). So far I haven't used anything but the USB input and the headphone out so the HD would have been perfect for me.- harpua

Hello! How is NuForce Icon HD different from NuForce HDP?
Quote: Yep, that's my situation (trapped in front of my computer for many hours each day) and very limited desk space. Also wanted something easily transportable that could run on foreign voltages. So the HDP has worked out very well for me, although I haven't yet had occasion to use the...- harpua

NuForce U-DAC 2 apparently not working?
Sorry can't offer any help with itunes as I have never used it. Also I'm on a windows machine so really don't know much about the Apple world. But, in general, in the WIndows world (and perhaps it is similar in the Apple world), you can set an overall default playback device that should be...- harpua

NuForce U-DAC 2 apparently not working?
You might have to select the U-Dac 2 as your default audio playback device. Also, in Foobar, preferences, under the Output section, make sure the U-dac 2 is selected as the output device.- harpua

Question about computer USB out
Once the DAC is plugged into the USB port it should be recognized as an audio playback device (drivers auto install) that you can then select. At least that's how it usually works on a windows machine.- harpua
