Amp for Macbook Pro retina
What amp would you recommend for the retina MBP for less than 250USD? I read that macbookpros have pretty good DACs so I only really need an amp. Is it true? I am mainly planning to use it with my B&W P7 which I read that benefits from amping. Thanks.- yliu

The MDR-10R has proprietary cables? I thought they use 3.5mm jack at both ends.- yliu

Bowers & Wilkins P7 - over the ear headphones
I heard that the P5 was mainly designed for portable music players, meaning that they sound in iPods but cant get the full potential of an amp. Hopefully the P7 will be a true 'hi-fi' headphone.- yliu

NEWS: Beats in a lawsuit with Yamaha
From the advertisement, it is obvious that Yamaha was copying Dr.Dre, which is quite sad. Yamaha's reputation will probably take a hit after this (at least for me) .- yliu

Klipsch X10 sound quality problem
I own an X10 for about 4 years now, and they still are one of my favorite! As others have mentioned it, the X10 should be a significant upgrade from cheap earphones, so you might be doing something wrong... Have you tried using other sources to drive the X10? like a comptuer, friend's...- yliu

Best headphones below 200 $
Sennheiser HD25. I've owned one for many months and I love it. It has a balanced sound, but with some more highs, which I think is good for metal too. It can be drived with an iPod or a computer, but an amp will get more out of them.- yliu

Flashlight-Fi (LED & Conventional)
Quote: Have fun! I have the V10R and it's amazing! Get a Li-ion for the max output for showing off in front of your friends:) But the 200 lumens provided by a CR123 should be enough.- yliu

Good over ear headphones for under $200. What's the best?
The two brand you chose are not the most popular brands amongst audiophiles. The Audio Technica ATH-M50 should give you plenty of bass with a fairly balanced sound. Sennheiser HD25 is another great choice.- yliu

Flashlight-Fi (LED & Conventional)
By the way, the PA40 is not going to run for 2:30 hours at max output. The brightness will start to slowly drop once you get to the 2:00 mark (estimate, depends on battery). Don't be surprised if the PA40 does not look twice as bright as your Fenix HP10. The human eye perceives luminance...- yliu

Flashlight-Fi (LED & Conventional)
Quote: I own the PA40, and it's a great light! The carbon reinforced plastic body help a lot of cold weathers. The beam is very floody, which I really like and it still manages to throw quite far with its 460 lumens. The Olight S65 also seems like a great light (although I don't have...- yliu

Cheap desktop amp that can power an HD650?
I really want to get an Sennheiser HD650, but I've read that it needs powerful amps. Would the Fiio E9 drive it decently? I also heard about the "veil" problem, and that it is probably caused of bad amping, would the happen with the E9? If not, then what is the CHEAPEST amp that...- yliu
