I was never a huge fan of the P5, but that was mostly due to comfort. Maybe if the P7's wow me in terms of both sound and comfort I'll spring for them, but I've also been looking at open 'phones of a similar price (got my eyes on the HE-400's

Don't you loose portability since they are over the ear?

I can’t help but roll my eyes when reading stuff like this from the P7 page:

"we have created a headphone driver that works more like the drive unit in a hi-fi speaker, with a diaphragm focussed purely on the job it’s supposed to do: generate sound."

What is that supposed to mean? what do other drivers do aside form generate sound? pack your lunch? It’s odd and confusing ad-copy.

Probably their previous drivers generate only noise.

Uh, generate resonance, distortion...stuff you don't want to hear?

I heard that the P5 was mainly designed for portable music players, meaning that they sound in iPods but cant get the full potential of an amp. Hopefully the P7 will be a true 'hi-fi' headphone.
