Pinna-Fi
I've been pretty happy with my pinnae for 46+ years, but I've been thinking about having them reshaped to achieve better synergy with my AH-D2000. Can anyone suggest a pinna shape that works well for closed headphones? Feel free to comment on other shape/headphone combinations that you like. ...- nycbone

LD 1+ replacement (doesn't cut it for solo piano)
While I enjoy the sound of my LD1+, the intermittent hisses and cracks from the tubes make it difficult to listen to solo piano and other quiet jazz recordings. I've tried cleaning the contacts, replacing tubes, etc. but the amp simply isn't quiet enough. My preffered tube is an RCA 6AK5...- nycbone

I've been suffering with the 3GS and RE2 during my 1+ hour commute for the past several months. I had originally chalked this up to the RE2, but had a revelation after playing around with an LOD, several amps and headphones today: Headphones: SR125i, KSC75, RE2 Amps: LD 1+, Headroom...- nycbone

Jockstrap Fi
I've been using Bike athletic supporters (with cup) since my days as a catcher in little league. I've lost some weight and tried a smaller waist size, but my boys are moving around a bit more than they should. I'm a bit of Bike fanboy, but may need to switch brands. Any recommendations?- nycbone

Rubber Band Fi
I've been using Staples #84 rubber bands for office and home use, but I'm looking for something with a bit more elasticity. Has anyone tried the Office Max branded bands? I've seen (but never tried) a few and I suspect that they're from the same manufacturer as the Staples variety. I hear that...- nycbone

blocking out air conditioner noise
Summer is just around the corner and my primary listening room has a window air conditioner about 8' from my head that gets a pretty good workout. So, that's what I've been missing (Cd vs. iPod)
I haven't used a CD player since purchasing my first iPod in 2002 (the 1st touch wheel model). I recently 'upgraded' to a 4G nano and a classic 120GB and re-ripped all of my CDs using iTunes/Apple lossless (a pain, to be sure) - assuming I would achieve 'CD-quality' sound. I've also...- nycbone

45 rpm LPs -wow!
I've been playing around with the platter height on my AR-XA as it was a little high for the belt to hang onto the inner platter at 45 rpm. I put it all back together and rechecked the tracking force, overhang etc. - but didn't have a 45 handy. I remembered I bought my SO the latest REM LP...- nycbone

Grado SR125i for jazz - quick impressions

Better isolation and tip fit for RE2
None of the tips that came with my RE2 are quite right. The best option of the Head Direct-supplied tips is the translucent (not white) double-flange set, which provide fair (but not quite adequate) isolation. The other tips are too small for my ear canals. Does anyone have actual...- nycbone

Nano 4G - lossless files?
My trusty 2nd generation ipod is nearing the end of its useful life. The battery doesn't hold a charge for very long and I'd like something smaller for commuting that will play Apple lossless files.
